Groundedinarelationalperspective,theprogrammewillofferasafe,non-pathologisingandaccessibleapproachtoworkingwithtrauma.Itwillofferacombinationofrelational,embodiedandexperientialperspectivesontrauma,includingpragmaticideasonpsycho-educationandexperimentalinterventions.

Thecoursewillbecreativeandrigorousandhaveanemphasisonpractice.Itwillbeunderpinnedwithinputon,anddiscussionof,neuroscience,traumatheory,embodimentanddevelopingresilienceasapractitioner.

Thisprogrammeissuitableforcounsellors,psychotherapistsandothermentalhealthpractitionerswhowishtoextendtheirworkwithtrauma,includingthosewithaninterestinusingrelationalprinciplesbasedonhumanisticpractice.

Wewillplaceanemphasisondevelopingasupportivetrainingenvironmentwhereyoucanbuildconfidenceinworkingwithpeoplepresentingwithtrauma,complextraumaanddissociation.Thefocuswillbeongaininganunderstandingoftheimpactoftraumaonindividualsandinthewiderfield.Wewillsupportthisprocessbydevelopingyourabilitytoworkwithunspokenandembodiedprocesses,includingyourown.Asweworktogethertoextendyourpracticetoincludeatraumafocusyouwilllearnarangeofeffectiveinterventions;bothpsycho-educationalandexperimental.
