Critical Care NursingTasks:

-Be able to assess a patients pain level and sedation requirements.

-Be able to identify abnormal respiratory patterns which can then indicate a breathing problem.

-You must document the patient’s medical history and any assessments you made.

-A nurse must administer medications orally, intravenously, or by injection.

Critical Care Nursing• Knowledge:• You must know about animals cells, tissues, and

how they interact in the environment.• You must have knowledge on the information and

techniques which are necessary for diagnosing and treating diseases.

• You need to have knowledge on arithmetic, algebra, and geometry, along with their applications.

• Know the principals, methods and procedures necessary for diagnosing and treating a patient with mental and physical dysfunctions.

Critical Care Nursing• Skills:

• Giving full attention to the patient and not interrupting them.

• Being aware of other peoples reactions and know why they react that way.

• Understanding new information.

• Being able to talk to others to convey information effectively.

Abilities:

•Being able to listen and understand information through spoken words.

•The ability to speak clearly so other people can understand you.

•The ability to see things at a close range such as tiny details.

•Being able to understand other peoples speech even with accents.

with people and teaching people.

• You need to like to help or provide services to other people.

• You need to like working with problems that require an extensive amount of thinking.

• You need to like activities which includes hands on and practical work.

Special Education Teacher

• Tasks:• Teach children socially correct behavior employing

techniques such as positive reinforcement. • Speak with parents, administration, and social

workers to develop individual education programs• Develop and implement strategies to meet the

needs of the child with a variety of handicapping conditions.

• Instruct students in academic subjects using a variety of techniques such as phonetics, multisensory learning, and repetition to enforce learning and to meet the needs of the child.


• Knowledge:• The structure and content of the

English language including the meaning and spelling of words, and grammar.

• Knowledge of human behavior, and individual differences.

• Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures needed to diagnose and treat physical, mental and emotional dysfunctions.

• Knowledge of group behaviors, dynamics, social trends and ethnicities.

increase faster than average due to the fact that many districts have problems finding adequate licensed

prospect.• More teachers will be

needed due to the large amount of special education teachers who switch to general teaching.

• Qualifications• Need to be a licensed

special education teacher which requires at least a Bachelor’s Degree.

• Some states require a Master’s Degree.

• Special education teachers require longer training then general teaching.

• Most Bachelor’s programs are 4 years but some are 5.

Physical Therapist

Physical Therapist• Perform and document an initial exam,

evaluating data to identify problems and find a diagnosis

• Record prognosis, progress and treatments in the patients chart.

• Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be worked on at home.

• Administer manual exercises, massage to reduce pain, and increase patient
