Principal’s Message
Mrs Maier
I would like to congratulate Mrs Maier on her
appointment as Principal at Mt Kanwary Public School
commencing in 2013. Mrs Maier has been an
outstanding teacher at Seaham Public School and we
will certainly miss her. The work she does in
organising sport and her outstanding classroom
management will leave a big hole to fill. Both her
position and Mr Hanrahan’s position are currently
being filled on a temporary basis by Ms Atchison and
Mr Padmos. Both teachers are doing an outstanding
job and we would love to keep both of them. I am
waiting on advice from staffing to see what options I
have.
School Choir
Last Sunday the Seaham Public School senior choir
performed at the Therry Centre in Maitland as part of
a community Christmas event. Thank you to Taylah,
Erin, Jessica, Amy, Zayne, Lily, Jasmin, Bridie,
Tommi, Eliza, Allison, Jordan, Belinda, Lauren, Sonia,
Jazmin, Shannon and their families for giving up part
of their Sunday to perform.
School Canteen
We are still not sure if our canteen will continue in
2013. I would urge anyone, who can, to attend the
Canteen AGM on Friday, December 7 in the library.
It would be a real shame not to offer canteen to our
students in 2013. Karen Forsythe spoke to our new
kinder parents at our “Seaham Starters” orientation.
Hopefully this helped to find some new volunteers.
Thank you Karen.
Presentation Evening
A reminder that our evening presentation is on next
Tuesday evening, commencing at 7pm in the hall.
We will not be having a day presentation this year, as
has been the case in previous years.

Canteen News
At the recent P & C Meeting a motion was
passed to:
Reschedule a final Canteen AGM meeting
before the end of the year.
At the time of the AGM the canteen
committee will put forward a motion that
a committee member can only hold a
position for a maximum of 2 years.
We advise that a final AGM meeting will take
place on Friday 7th December, 2012 at
2.00 pm at the school library. As previously
mentioned in the newsletter all positions are
up for re-election:
We encourage all parents to attend the AGM

Disco Tomorrow At Lunch
Our annual Christmas Service will be taking
place next Wednesday at 9.10am. Everyone is
welcome to attend.
We would like to thank all of our scripture
teachers for their wonderful contribution to
Seaham Public in 2012.
No sooner had she finished that then the bells
rang to signal everyone for dinner. Wearily,
Sonia joined the crowd throning in the corridor,
and allowed herself to be swept along to the
feasting hall.
Only when she sat down in her place at the table
did she realise something was wrong. The
Queen. The Queen had uncharacteristically cold
look on her face, a look that made the hair on
the back of her neck prickle, and raised
goosebumps on her arms and legs. Then the
Queen looked directly into her eyes, and Sonia
gave a small squeak of terror. The Queen’s
normally warm and happy eyes were full of
hatred and fury, and a terrible power that made
Sonia’s heart beat ten times faster than usual.
Suddenly the Queen’s eyes glowed green.
Instinctively Sonia protected her face with her
arms, and felt a burning pain on her wrist.
Suddenly the burning was replaced by a cool
breath of gentle wind, which then gathered in
power and surged towards the Queen, sending
her sprawling and almost knocking her
unconscious.
Snarling, the Queen got up, glaring at Sonia.
Her narrowed eyes flashed with hatred and she
said, “You, I knew I’d find you someday. Get
out. You are banished from the palace. You and
that infernal bracelet of yours. Go. NOW!”.
Trembling, Sonia glanced at the others of the
palace to see how they were taking this
outburst, and her heart nearly stopped. They
were frozen. Everyone! Hands holding forks
were suspended in midair, and food lay
unswallowed in people’s mouth’s. To be
continued next week.
A morning tea for all our parent helpers will take
place on Friday, 14 December, immediately after
the school assembly. We encourage all parent
helpers to attend, to enable the school to
sincerely thank you for your wonderful efforts.
Tomorrow I am running
a disco in the school
hall, with funds being
donated to animal
rescue. I think animal
rescue is important
because wildlife is just
like human rescue
services. To enter you
will need a 20c
donation. Animal
rescue gives animals a
second chance like
nurses and doctors do!
