What is the Job Description?Most Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technicians commonly referred to as HVAC+R techs work with electrical, mechanical, sheet metal, control wiring and chemicals blended to make refrigerants. They study temperatures and pressures to determine proper system operation. Mechanical devices are analyzed to identify problems. In this trade, the technician is provided with a service van which he uses as a means of transportation to get to the sites where the problems are. Techs must be trustworthy as they have a great deal of freedom. Techs must be honest, hard working and reliable.

Tasks and Duties Brazing Welding Checking Temperatures Run Wire Recover Refrigerant out of units Bending pipe Flaring pipe Solder Joints Making electrical connections Pick up supplies Hook up actuators and thermostats
