Welcome to March.
We’ve had a couple cra-
zy weeks in terms of
weather, but I am excit-
ed we are moving to-
ward spring. I am hoping
we are in the clear in
terms of snow day
events, but we do live in
Missouri so you never
know what can happen.
Speaking of snow days,
there has been some ad-
justments to the school
calendar. We will now be
in session all day on
March 5th and April 16th.
Our last day of school
will be May 27th with a
1:00 p.m. dismissal.
Please be sure to mark
your calendar for these
changes.
As spring approaches, so
does the quickened pace
that always signals the
end of the school year. I
hope you’re geared up
and ready as we enter
the final push to the end
of the school year and
graduation.
With a quick pace in
mind, listed below are a
few events happening
over the next few weeks.
The RHS drama de-
partment will be pre-
senting their spring
musical March 4-7.
This year’s play is
The Little Mermaid
and will be per-
formed Thursday and
Friday with a Satur-
day matinee as an
option. Plan to attend
one of the perfor-
mances. I’ll guaran-
tee you won’t be dis-
appointed. COVID-19
protocols will be en-
forced.
Parent/teacher con-
ferences are set for
Wednesday, March
17, from 4:00-7:00
p.m. More infor-
mation will be shared
soon regarding the
format for spring
conferences.
No school Friday,
March 19, and spring
break continues the
following week,
March 22 through
March 26. School will
resume Monday,
March 29.
The school calendar
for next year (2021-
2022) was approved
and can be found on
the district website.
If you’re planning va-
cation or other activi-
ties check out what
next year will look
like at https://
www.rolla31.org/.
Commencement will
be held Friday, May
14, 7:30 p.m. at the
RHS
Football
Stadium.
Infor-
mation about com-
mencement will be
available as we get
closer.
It has been a fantastic
year so far and I look
forward to the spring
being no different. The
finish will come quickly.
Enjoy the time and en-
joy your student. Have
a wonderful spring and,
as always, if I can help
in any way, let me
know.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jim Pritchett

From the Principal’s Desk...
The PBS committee encourages students to be respectful, respon-sible, and ready to learn. For the most part our kids do an amaz-ing job at demonstrating these three; however, there are times we all need to be reminded how we can better ourselves. One of the best ways to encourage others to change their behavior is by embracing change in other areas. Very few things in life stay con-stant forever. Change is one thing you can bet on. This school year has been one of tremendous change and our students are, like most of us, struggling to adapt. Some people don’t like change in their circumstances and far fewer like change in them-selves. Most people only change when they have to. Change can be a good thing. Teaching students to be self-aware about their habits, actions, conversations, friends… is a great way to enact change. Students expand (or change) their mind every day. They can also change their behavior and attitude. Embracing change is the only way you can really grow. Parents can help with this process by demonstrating that you are never too old to change.
