Adults with Down Syndrome
Young people with Down syndrome to turn 26 years old, by law,
graduating from the Special Education where they built
friendships and socialize forever.
From day to day, your living environment changes abruptly:
there are no companions with whom to share and learn.
Disappear your old friends, teachers, classes, activities, dreams.
Thereafter, the main activity is watching television in their
homes amid a crippling loneliness.
Their parents work, older siblings are in college or working.
Thereafter, loneliness is steady partner.
Fall into depression, weight increased by the lack of activity, are
isolated, turn inward, recoil in socialization and sick.
Less than 1% of them manage employment for disabled even
when they participated in training workshops for this.
Faced with this problem, O.N.G. APASDOWN supports them.
