OverviewSignificantsuccessfulimprovementsinthetreatmentofchildhood cancer are leading to an increased number of childhood cancer survivors in the United States, thus introducing newfound struggles in the long-term care of these patients. Adolescent and adult survivors of childhood cancers are now at increased risk for numerous physical, emotional, psychological,socialandfinanciallateeffectsofcancertreatment. The need for long-term follow-up care has been well established and guidelines now exist to help providers monitor for late effects. National accreditation standards are pushing for higher standards including survivorship care. However, there continues to be a gap among health care providers in several areas related to monitoring and early diagnosis of late effects of cancer treatment.This conference is designed to provide primary care providers and other health care providers involved in the care of adolescent and adult survivors of childhood cancer with the most current information regarding late effects of treatment and use of the latest Children’s Oncology Group (COG) survivor guidelines. In addition, the workshop will provide a forum for networking between primary care providers and subspecialists.

Keynote Speaker - Timothy E. Folse, M.D.Dr. Folse is a family physician who has special interest in caring for cancer survivors. He is originally from Collins, a small town near Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical School. Dr. Folse joined St. Jude in 2008 after practicing Family Medicine for 20 years. He currently serves as the Clinical Director for The St. Jude LIFE & After Completion of Therapy(ACT) Clinics.
