What's new in MVBGA ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------—————————————————-
Dear Members and Friends
Welcome to Spring in the Mohawk Valley! As I'm writing this on a snowy Monday morning, I'm reminded by
Mother Nature that Spring is really not a calendar defined date, but rather a time when Mother Nature decides to bring the
snow and ice to an end and let the weather warm up and the grass grow, leaves pop out on all the trees, and bring smiles to
everyone's face. Hang in there Folks. Spring WILL arrive! Happy Easter!
And so will July 10th and 11th at Erie Canal Village for our Mohawk Valley Bluegrass Festival! Plans are on-going
for the Festival and many more volunteers will be needed to make this Festival all it can be. Sign-up sheets will be available
at all MVBGA events or call or e-mail me or any MVBGA Officer or Director. Or message me on Facebook.
Al Worthen of Mountain Music in Old Forge has generously donated a Martin guitar again this year to be raffled
off to raise funds for MVBGA and the Festival.. It is the "Tattoo", a rare collector's model of which only 100 were built by
the Martin Guitar Co.. A picture can be found on our web-site mvbga.com and on the Mountain Music web-site
banjoshop.com under the "Inventory" listings, and also in this newsletter. Tickets will be $5 ea. and will be available soon.
Anyone wishing to sell raffle tickets for us please contact me or our Treasurer Mark Williams.
Festival Planning will be on the agenda for our regular Board Meeting at the April 18th Jam at Stittville Fire Hall.,
8 AM until... Meeting time-11 AM.! All are encouraged and welcome to attend. This is YOUR Festival. Please sign up to
help make this the best Festival ever! :)
ALSO!
Not to forget! The rescheduled Talent Show originally scheduled for March 28th has been postponed to Friday
night, May 15th at the Remsen Arts Center in Remsen. This event is a joint effort by MVBGA and the Remsen Arts Center.
Sign-up sheets for volunteer performers have been started and will be available at all MVBGA functions, or call or e-mail
or Facebook me or any MVBGA Officer or Director to sign up. Performers will be admitted free. Come join the fun!
So 'til next time, Y'all come and join the fun!
