The concept – to provide cycling-related learning opportunities for children, young people and their
families
What has happened so far?
• Recruitment of a national manager, a communications officer and 8 development officers
• Based in 8 clusters across England• In post since end September 2009 –
networking with local and regional partners
• 6 additional positions this spring
Working alongside other cycling initiatives
• Cycle Champions• Bike It• Go-Ride• Bikeability• Cycling Town projects• Other local initiatives
Where is Bike Club?
Target• Over 500 Bike Clubs across the UK
including:– after-school clubs– community youth clubs– family projects– clubs working specifically supporting those
under-represented in cycling
