Materials/Equipment needed: Each student will need a partner (decided by the teacher) as well as one basketball between the two
students.

Procedures Time
Introductory Activity:
Have the students jog around the gym for two minutes before beginning the activity. Next have the students geta drink from the drinking fountain and meet in the middle of the gym. Divide the students into sets of partners
according to their birth months.

Activity Description:
This activity will consist of three stations, each of which will help the students with skills needed to playbasketball. Explain the rotation order to the students and remind them to listen for the whistle indicating time to
change stations. Review each station activity and encourage the students to ask any questions they may haveabout each station. Remind the students that instructions and pictures for each station are posted with the stationmarkers.

Learning Lesson Activity:
Station 1: Chest Pass
With a partner, practice the chest pass. A chest pass is done with two hands holding onto the ball. Theball is held at chest level and thrown straight toward the target from the chest.
Station 2: Bounce Pass
With a partner, practice the bounce pass. A bounce pass starts at chest level but then drops as the passersarms move forward. The pass should bounce about midway between the passer and the player who is
receiving the pass.

Station 3: Overhead Pass
With a partner, practice the overhead pass. An overhead pass is thrown with two hands and the pass is
thrown from directly above the head.
Station 4: With a partner, practice dribbling.Closing Activity:Have the students put the balls back in the bin and walk along around the gym twice to cool down. Meet in themiddle to review everything the students have learned.
