Three stables and turn out in one of our paddocks are available. A fourth horse/pony can be kept outdoors for the duration of your stay if required.

The Pennine Bridle way is just 50 yards from the farm gate. Petal rides ranging from one hour to over four hours criss-cross the area. Michelle Clayton, who runs the cottage and stables, has over twelve years local knowledge and will be delighted to point you in the right direction and also provide a local map!

There are 16 circular rides from and around Hayfield Village, so there will be plenty to keep you and your horse busy.

Holidays With Your Horse

Bring your horse on holiday to Barn Cottage in the High Peak of Derbyshire. Stay in our rustic 18th century holiday cottage set within 7 acres while your horse resides in our stable block.

Accommodation

For the humans the cottage is fully equipped with TV, DVD player, washing machine and dishwasher. There are two bedrooms, one double and one twin room. There is access to a tumble dryer in the barn outside.

The lounge, kitchen and dining area are downstairs, the bathroom on the top floor and there is an additional shower in the double room.

From Barn Cottage you can explore the fabulous scenery of the Peak District on your horse, mountain bike or hiking boots. A wide range of rides of varying complexity are available with lots of help and advice from Michelle should you need it.

How Long To Stay...? We offer two night rates or single night rates if you are “riding through” You can of course stay longer than two nights if you wish as there are enough rides to keep your interest for at least a week, some with great places for a good canter or the more sedate routes of the old railway tracks on the Sett Valley trail.

Food...? We are able to provide breakfast hampers, packed lunches and evening meals if required at an additional cost.

We also are able to provide wine at an additional cost, or chocolates, champagne, and balloons for those special occasions!

Alternatively there is a local pub for lunch or dinner, you can even tie your horses up outside while you enjoy a cooling drink... Hayfield village has several pubs and place to eat.
