Applied Physics Graduate ProgramThe Applied Physics Program (APP) at Rice University offers a unique interdisciplinary education where students apply physics principles to important problems in diverse disciplines of modern science and technology. With a long tradition of multidisciplinary research since the 1970s, Rice APP is currently ranked No. 3 out of 46 applied physics programs in the U.S. by Academic Analytics. Our students enjoy a faculty-student ratio of 5-to-1 and have the opportunity to work with professors across nine departments at Rice as well as with faculty at four institutions in the Texas Medical Center.
