News and Notes

In Memoriam:

Guild News: The Guild met on April 9th. The usual reports were read and approved. We served 7 funeral luncheons since our February meeting. Groups 4 thru 11 provided the luncheons for these funerals. Group 2 provided the soup for the Soup Supper on Feb. 28th. The other soup supper had to be cancelled due to bad weather. Free will offering for this event was $112.50 and was given to our food shelf. Group changes were made. Up coming events of First Communion and Con-firmation were planned. Money for our ceiling project keeps coming in. Please make your donation if you haven’t already done so. A BIG THANK YOU to those that have. Next meeting date will be May 9th. Due to the many funeral luncheons the guild has served, there are a lot of empty bowls and pans in the Holy Family Center. If one of them is yours, please stop down and pick it up. Thank you for your generous donation when called upon.

Catholic Home Missions Appeal Next weekend, we will take up the Catholic Home Mission Appeal. Right now, over 40 percent of the dioceses in the United States are considered home mission territory because they are unable to find the essential pastoral work needed in their communities. Your support of this appeal helps ease the struggle of these dioceses. Please prayerfully consider how you can support this appeal. More information can be found at www.uscb.org/homemissions.

“I am the good shepherd...and I lay down my life for the sheep…and they will heed my voice.” – JOHN 10:14-16 When you pray, do you only ask Jesus for the things that you want? Do you ever ask Him what He wants from you? How do you listen for His response? Usually, the answer is in ―quiet whispers‖, so take time every day, in silence, to actively listen for His response.
