It gives us great pleasure to present Activity Report of Organisation for the time period of March 2017 – March 2018 1. GOVERNING BODY: Governing body of the organisation is the core centre for power and authority to form the policy and steer the overall direction of the organisation. Headed by President Governing body on behalf of the organisation decides policy matters, discusses and tries to bring solution to the issues/ problem of the industrial sector and also explores the new avenues for expanding the activities/services for members of organisation. Governing body comprises of:

• GOVERNING BODY
11 Monthly meetings of Governing Body were held during past year.
• OFFICE BEARERS
Office Bearers meet 4 times in the year and the officers took special care to see that policy matters as decided by Governing Body were implemented.
• ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING
36th Annual General Body Meeting – 2016 was conducted Tuesday 22 August 2017 6:30 pm, GRAND MERCURE Hotel Surya Palace, Vadodara 121 representatives from 62 member industries attended the meet.
AGM was followed by a grand function and a get together for members, wherein Pujya Gnanvatsal Swami from BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha was the Guest Speaker. He spoke on SQ – The ultimate intelligence. The talk was well received and appreciated.
The meeting ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Niraj Patel Hon. Treasurer of GEO.

3. SUB – COMMITTEES:
To assist Governing Body & to utilize the expertise & knowledge of its board members; Sub – Committees are formed. For 2018-19 following Sub Committees were formed (ANNEXURE-B) I. IR/HR SUB – COMMITTEE:
The objectives were: 1. To arrange & organises IR/HR related programs 2. To provide Labour Laws related consultancy our members industries
II. HR CONVENTION SUB – COMMITTEE: To arrange State Level HR Convention - 2017– a mega event scheduled in the month of November.
III. AWARDS SUB – COMMITTEE: GEO was planning to initiate the Awards for best IR/HR practices. The proposal has been forwarded to State Government for its support.
IV. SMEs CONNECT SUB – COMMITTEE:
The objective was to share the experiences of small-scale entrepreneurs, who could turn their small business in to big & successful industry.
V. PROGRAM SUB-COMMITTEE (2018-2019):
The objective is to plan different programmes under this committee including the initiatives taken this year
4. MEMBERSHIP (March 17 – April18):
Last year the active membership was 253 during the year. Between March 2017 to April 2018, 13 Industries joined as our new members.

a) Liasoning with Government & Non-Government Organizations: Specific and general problems/issues of Industries & individual members related with IR and HRD were represented at various relevant Government & Non-Government levels, to bring out solutions. 15 - 16 labour queries of members were responded during the year.

Minutes of 36th Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of Gujarat Employers’ Organisation held on Tuesday 22 August 2017 6:30 pm, GRAND MERCURE Hotel Surya Palace, Vadodara ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Members present: - 121 representatives from 62 member industries attended the meeting.
President Mr. Shwetanshu Patel chaired the meeting and welcomed the members present.
The agenda points were taken as under:-
1. TO APPROVE MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD ON 29 SEPTEMBER 2016:
To approve the minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting held on 29 September 2016 the same were circulated to the members of Gujarat Employers’ Organisation within 30 days of holding the same. No comments and suggestions were received.
President Mr. Shwetanshu Patel informed that minutes of previous meeting have been incorporated in Annual Activity Report 2016-17 and sent to the members vide notice no. GEO/11.5/ 519 /17-18 dated 8 August 2017. He said notice was mailed to all members and had been also uploaded on our website: www.geogujarat.com for members’ consideration.
The proposal to approve the minutes of previous Annual General Meeting was put forth by Mr. Sanjay Suthar – Head HR/IR/OE Larsen & Toubro, Heavy Engineering Division, Vadodara and seconded by Mr. Pravin Patel Managing Director – Patel Furnace Pvt. Ltd., Makarpura Vadodara

It is resolved that the minutes of the previous Annual General Body Meeting held on Thursday 29 September 2016 of Gujarat Employers’ Organisation, Vadodara, is hereby approved

2. TO CONSIDER THE ANNUAL ACTIVITY REPORT OF THE ORGANISATION:
President Mr. Shwetanshu Patel placed before the house the copy of the Annual Activity Report 2016-2017, which had been forwarded to the members of the organization well in advance vide notice no GEO/11.5/ 519 /17-18 dated 8 August 2017. Activity Report was also uploaded on the official website of GEO i.e. www.geogujarat.com

RESOLUTION
It is resolved that the Annual Activity Report of the activities of the Gujarat Employers’ Organisation, Vadodara, for the period of October 16 -to August 17, is approved unanimously in the Annual General Meeting held on Tuesday 22 August 2017
The above resolution was approved unanimously.
3. TO RECEIVE AND ADOPT AUDITED ACCOUNTS FOR YEAR 2016-2017:
The Audited Accounts Report (2016 -17) was tabled on the floor of house. President Mr. Shwetanshu Patel briefed about the audited Income & Expenses Account, the Balance Sheet as on 31st March 2017 and the Auditor’s Report. Mr. Shwetanshu Patel informed that copies of Audited Accounts were forwarded to all the members of GEO well in advance vide notice no. GEO/11.5/ 519 /17-18 dated 8 August 2017, through mail and was uploaded on GEO website. During the meeting the copies were also made available to the house for consideration Mr. Ajay Parikh Director, Axtel Industries, Halol proposed the following resolution to receive and adopt the Auditor’s Report, Audited Balance Sheet of the previous year and Income-Expenses Account of the previous year. Mr. Satish Ashtakar Vice President Koch Chemical Technology Group India Pvt Ltd Vadodara seconded the proposal.

It is resolved that the Audited Balance Sheet and Income Expenditure Accounts of Gujarat Employers’ Organisation for the year 2016 -2017 (Year ended on 31st March 2017) be approved and adopted, in the Annual General Body Meeting held on Tuesday 22 August 2017
The house approved the resolution as above unanimously.
4. TO RE-APPOINT AUDITORS FOR THE YEAR 2016-2017:
Keeping in view the long association with Mahajan Doshi & Associates Vadodara, President Mr. Shwetanshu Patel suggested considering the re-appointment of the same auditors for the current year i.e. 2017-18. The suggestion was well received and the proposal of continuing the Auditors M/s. Mahajan Doshi & Associates, Vadodara, was forwarded by Mr. Navnit Patel Director Elysium Pharma Padra Vadodara and the proposal was seconded by Yogesh Velani Proprietor Electrodeal Vadodara
RESOLUTION
It is resolved that M/S Mahajan Doshi and Associates, Vadodara, are hereby appointed to audit the accounts for the year 2017 -2018. Their professional fee will be Rs. 7,500 (Rupees Seven Thousand Five Hundred Only) + GST as applicable – for auditing & filing IT returns.

We have audited the attached Balance Sheet of Gujarat Employers’ Organisation, Vadodara as at 31st March, 2018 together with the Income and Expenditure Account for the year ended on that date.
Management of Gujarat Employers Organisation is responsible for the preparation of these financial statements that gives a true and fair view of the financial position. This responsibility includes the design, implementation and maintenance of internal control relevant to the preparation and presentation of the financial statements that give a true and fair view and are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error.
Our responsibility is to express an opinion on these financial statements based on our audit. We conducted our audit in accordance with the Standards on Auditing issued by the institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Those Standards require that we comply with ethical requirements and plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements are free from material misstatement.
An audit involves performing procedures to obtain audit evidence about the amounts and disclosure in the financial statements. An audit also includes evaluating the overall presentation of the financial statements.

A) Significant Accounting Policies:- 1) Bases of Accounting:
The Organisation follows cash system of accounting.
2) Fixed Assets & Depreciation: Fixed assets are stated at written down value less current year’s depreciation, which is provided at the rates and in the manner prescribed under the Income Tax Act, 1961.
3) Entrance fees are transferred to General Reserve 4) Contingent Liabilities
We are informed that there are no contingent liabilities.
Notes on Accounts:- 1) In the opinion of the Managing Committee, the Balance shown under the
current assets have a realizable value in the ordinary course of activities of the organisation at least equal to the amount at which they are shown in the Balance Sheet.
2) No provision for Income Tax has been made as the Organisation being a trade union claims exemption of its Income u/s. 10 (24) of the Income Tax Act.
3) As there are no timing difference between the taxable income and the accounting Income of the Association, Deferred Tax Asset or Deferred Tax Liability, as required by the Accounting Standard-22 pronounced by the ICAI has not been recognized.

critical concerns jointly and develops a harmonious industrial environment. These
endeavors ensure the path to progress and prosperity through co-operation. GEO has
focused its aims & objectives to face the new challenges of industry. It has reoriented
itself from Industrial Relation (IR) to Human Resource Development (HRD) so as to
provide expert legal advice and assist in the selection of personnel, training and
development of human resources, acquisition of knowledge, improvement of skills
and efficiency and bringing about a change in work attitudes.
To keep pace with rapid changes around the country, GEO provides services like
Time & Motion studies, Psychometric Tests, Aptitude & Attitude Tests, and
implementation of 5-S, Kaizen, Lean manufacturing & other quality tools.
It also tries to maintain an association of all industries situated within Gujarat, solves
IR issues in lawful and constitutional manner and disseminates useful information
connected with trade and industry acquired through State and Central Governments
and other sources.
GEO is in the service of industrial sector for last 36 years.
