As Muslims we know that we should never go to the

toilet in public.

Jabir (ra) states that, 'When the Messenger of Allah

(saas) would go to relieve himself he would go so farthat no-one could see him.'

It is disliked to even talk while going to the toilet,

A man passed by the Prophet (saas) whilst he was

urinating, and greeted him. The Messenger of Allaah

(saas) said to him: “If you see me in this state, do not

greet me, because if you do, I will not respond.”

(Reported by Ibn Maajah, 346; see also Saheeh al-

Jaami’, 575).

It is against the Sunnah to eat whilst

lying on one’s stomach or side.

Abu Juhaifah said: “I was with the

Messenger of Allah (saas) when he said

to a man that was with him: “I do not

eat while I am reclining (or leaning).”

The scholars have said perhaps it is

disliked because it is imitating the

reclining position of tyrants and kings

of foreign lands.

The Messenger of Allaah (saas)

said,

‘Spells (ruqyah), amulets and

love-charms are shirk.”

(Narrated by Abu Dawood, 3883;

Ibn Maajah, 3530)

The Prophet Muhammad (saas)

said:

“Trim the moustache and grow

the beard and do not imitate the

polytheists”

[Sahih Muslim]

Narrated Abu Said Al-

Khudri (ra)

The Prophet (saas) said,

"Ghusl (taking a bath) on

Friday is compulsory for

every Muslim reaching

the age of puberty."

[Sahih Bukhari]

said:

“Allah, Mighty and

Majestic, sent me as a

guidance and mercy to

believers and commanded

me to do away withmusical instruments,

flutes, strings, crucifixes,

and the affair of the pre-

Islamic period of

Ignorance.”
