Alcatel-Lucent 9362 Enterprise Cell

Delivering a high-capacity, fast and responsive data service and crystal-clear voice, the Alcatel-Lucent

9362 Enterprise Cell (EC) cost effectively extends Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (W-CDMA) and

high-speed packet access (HSPA) capacity and five-bars coverage to the office environment. With Alcatel-

Lucent 9362 EC, large areas are as easily covered as small ones, because its small-cell-net capability enables

grouping Alcatel-Lucent 9362 ECs. It is also application-enabled and ready for the delivery of new value-added,

innovative business services.

Product overview

The Alcatel-Lucent 9362 EC targets the enterprise market requiring cost- effective W-CDMA coverage and increased high-speed data throughput. A low-power, high-capacity device, it uses a flat IP architecture with secured direct access to the Internet, reducing capital expenditures (CAPEX) and operating expenditures (OPEX).

The Alcatel-Lucent 9362 EC integrates sophisticated capabilities developed by Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs to ensure zero-touch configuration and self-optimization. It is part of a complete carrier-grade, end-to-end small-cell solution for easy network integration. It also enables service providers to leverage unique network capabilities, such as location and presence, for the delivery of enterprise services.

Features

The Alcatel-Lucent 9362 EC main technical characteristics are:

• Plug and play

• Flat IP architecture

• Highly scalable interconnection to the existing Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) core network over standard Third-Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) interfaces

• Self optimizing capabilities:

¬ Third Generation (3G)/Second Generation (2G) sniffers for neighboring-cell detection

¬ Power control for coverage optimization

• Security functions and authentication mechanisms

• Seamless service continuity between the Alcatel-Lucent 9362 EC and the macro network

• Emergency calling and other location-associated services

• Small-cell net

• Application programming interfaces (APIs): small-cell inform, small-cell locate, small-cell local connect, small-cell intelligent notification and small-cell mobile extension or Internet Protocol-Private Branch Exchange (IP-PBX) interface connection

• Leading management and customer-care services

• Supports open or closed access modes

Benefits

• Offers W-CDMA voice and HSDPA/high-speed uplink packet access (HSUPA) to the enterprise with a low TCO.

• Offers installation by local information technology (IT) teams

• Avoids special backhaul requirements by using a public broadband Internet connection

• Scales from a single unit to a group of Alcatel-Lucent 9362 EC that autonomously self-organize into a meshed network of coverage for blanketing any size enterprise, whether small, medium or large

• Enables the development of value-added, innovative services based on location, presence, quality of service (QoS) and trusted security
