1. Study Mode Options The AIB MBA is offered in three flexible study modes:
• Distance Learning: A flexible learning option for studentswho want the flexibility to study from home, the office, or whiletravelling, at times that suit them.
• On-campus: For learners seeking to complement theirdistance learning experience with three weekend workshopsper month led by practical faculty and guest lecturers.
• Hybrid: For students looking to undertake certain subjects viadistance learning and others on-campus.
2. Monthly Subjects The 12 Month MBA is 12 subjects delivered over 12 months. AIB is the only institution in Australia that uses the MonthlyLearning Model which allows students to start, master, andcomplete a subject within a month while working full-time.
This learning model is superior to the semestral or trimestralapproach adopted by most traditional MBA programmes asit allows working adults to balance personal and professionalcommitments, while focusing on just one subject at a time.
3. Accelerated Learning The AIB MBA is fully accredited to be delivered in just 12months while a student works full-time. While the content is ofthe same standard to other accredited MBA programmes, theintensive structure of the course forgoes term and semesterbreaks, which in traditional MBA models constitutes asubstantial amount of time during the course.
4. Work-Applied Learning AIB strongly believes that to produce effective businessgraduates, business programmes must blend theory and action.
Our learning methods are soundly based on Work-AppliedLearning (WAL), a practice which ensures each studentconsciously applies their knowledge and skills to the workplace.
This is assessed through formal coursework, including
assessments that measure students’ learning from both theirapplication and reflection of the theory.
5. Practical Assessment AIB’s emphasis on Work-Applied Learning is reflected in theunique assessments offered throughout the MBA programme:
Each of the first 11 subjects are assessed with:• 1 take-home, work-applied assignment• 1 open book, work-applied examination
The 12th subject is a Project, which allows students to identify
and address an issue of strategic and functional importance intheir organisation.
6. Flexible Completion Times Although the MBA can be completed in as little as 12 months,it can be undertaken in up to three years. Students canaccelerate or extend the programme to suit their personaland professional needs.

have tea, and then I would have my homework time. So at a certain point – say, 7.30pm, I would say ‘now it is my time’ and I would start my studies. While it was hard, I wanted to be a
good role model for my children and show them that in life you have to work hard to achieve something.”
“I’m one of those lunatics that generallywork for over 80 hours a week – I just
seem to naturally be able to managethat strain, and I’ve never had a coffee
in my life! All of my studies were pret ty much done at night time. I knew thatI would not be able to nd time within
my busy work schedule, so I madethe effort to study after hours. I foundthat worked quite well for me. I would
get home, have dinner and then throw myself into it.”
“I used to read on the way to work oron the plane, studying for 1.5 hoursevery day and playing catch-up onthe weekend if I needed to put inextra time.”
