TAMIU PKP President Receives ‘Love of Learning’ Grant

A member of the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) chapter of the Honor

Society of Phi Kappa Phi received the Love of Learning Award worth $500. Dr. James

Norris, TAMIU associate professor of political science, was one of 160 winners chosen

from over 400 applicants.

New TAMIU Literacy Center Expansion

An expansion of a highly successful Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Literacy Enrichment Center (LEC) program for elementary school students that strengthens reading and writing skills will happen thanks to a generous grant totaling $300,000 from the Trustees of the Lamar Bruni Vergara Trust. Orchids for TAMIU The family of Irma M. and Daniel B. Hastings has generously donated a portion of their

orchid collection to Texas A&M International University to honor the memory of their

late grandparents, avid orchid collectors. The Hastings Orchid Collection will be

housed in TAMIU’s Greenhouse, part of the College of Arts & Sciences… read more.

The TAMIU Alumni Association is seeking nominations to fill four open board memberships. The positions available are President, President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer. Nominations should be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m., Monday, June 8.

this beautiful portrait of Mexican-American singer, Selena Quintanilla, to

honor the 20th Anniversary of her passing.
