Personal ProtectiveEquipment (PPE)
Personal Protective Protective Equipment All equipment designed to be worn or held by the worker toprotect him against one or more hazards likely to endanger hissafety at work, and any addition or accessory designed to meet
this objective.
When do we need to use PPE?When there is a need to protect the worker from the risks ofthe task the worker is performing if these risks can not becontrolled by other means. Never try to use a PPE in substitution
of proper safe measures
How do we wear or use our PPE?Must be worn or carried by the worker and used in the mannerindicated by the manufacturer.

Work Permits
Before start up any task it is necessary to:
-Check if the task require a Work Permit
-If the task require a WP, ask for one toa certified WP receiver
-Follow all safety precautions outlinedby the WP
Working without the proper WP is avery serious safety breach that shall be
dealt with a disciplinary sanction

In case of accident:
Asses the scene and only approach if it is safe to do so andthere is not danger to your own safety
IF FEASIBLE remove the source of the hazard (stopmachinery, shut a valve or electrical switch etc)
Call for help from the Emergency and first aid people asrequired
Do not interfere with the casualties if your are not qualified to
do so
Wait for help until a qualified person allows you to go
Inform to your supervisor ASAP of any incident/ accidentregardless how insignificant the injury may seem

Emergency and Evacuation procedures are displayed in eachoffice and other prominent locations through the workplaceand each employees have the duty to know them, learning
how to behave in case of an Emergency and Evacuation
In case of an Emergency /Evacuation allpersonnel including visitors must:
Follow the instructions lay down in the Emergencyand Evacuation plan
Follows the indications of the EmergencyCoordinator
Report to the nearest assembly point on foot
