Thank you for your donations to Bountiful Baskets last weekend. You make it pos-
sible for us to feed families in need in our area. We appreciate your generosity.
To The Community of St. Cyril Parish
Thank you for all the prayers and support over the past 7 months as our grandson, Christopher Lux,
battled cancer. On June 13th Chris passed away. We take comfort in knowing his faith carried him home
to our Lord and he is no longer in pain.
We will forever be grateful for the outpouring of prayers and concern you have shown for a young man
you had never met. You have surrounded us with love and prayers during this time. Thank you for being
there for us. God Bless you all,
Hank and Fran Taylor
Parish Pictorial Directory
Please help us as we attempt to create a Parish Pictorial Directory. There is no cost to you or the parish
for this beautiful directory or to have your photographs taken. Just for participating, you will receive a
complimentary professional 8 x 10 portrait and a church directory.
We will be photographing during the week of August 8th – August 12th from 1:00 pm to 8:30 pm on the
weekdays and on Saturday from 10 am to 5:30 pm.
Volunteers are appreciated to help make our directory a success. If you can help by signing up families
after Mass, telephoning some of our church families or by serving as a greeter during the actual
photography sessions, please contact Ranee Forrette at [email protected].

DOWNWARD MOBILITY
The society in which we live suggests that the to go is up. Making it to the
top, entering the limelight, breaking the record - that’s what draws atten-
tion, gets us on the front page of the newspaper, and offers us the rewards
of money and fame.
The way of Jesus is radically different. It is the way of not of upward mobility
but of downward mobility. It is going to the bottom, staying behind the sets, and choosing the last place!
Why is the way of Jesus worth choosing? Because it is the way to the
Kingdom, the way Jesus took, and the way that brings everlasting life.

A VISIT FROM A MARYKNOLL MISSIONER
Fr. Clyde Philips, M.M. will be with us next weekend, July 15 and 16,
to promote the work of the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers. He was ordained
a Maryknoll priest in 1978. Fr. Phillips was assigned to the Philippine Region
where he served for 20 years. Since 1999, he has been serving the Society in
Mission Promotion.
Maryknoll’s mission is to witness God’s Word among the peoples and cultures of foreign
lands. Maryknollers share the Gospel, not in words alone, but in practical and concrete actions:
by feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, giving shelter to the homeless, comforting the
oppressed. Maryknoll depends entirely upon the interest, prayers and support of its friends. There
will be a second collection after communion to help support the work of Maryknoll.
During his parish visit, Fr. Philips will be happy to talk with any person who is interested in
learning more about mission life or perhaps becoming an overseas missioner.
