4 HAWAII HAWAII CATHOLIC HERALD • AUGUST 15, 2014

The Hawaii Catholic Commu-nity Foundation, which manages the money collected through the Diocese of Honolulu’s With Grateful Hearts capital cam-paign, reported that, as of June 30, it has received more than $33 million of the more than $50 mil-lion originally pledged.

All parishes were required to participate in the With Grateful Hearts campaign.

The first column of figures right is the amount of money collected as of June 30 this year. The second column is the dona-tion goal set for each parish. The third column notes the percent-age of the goal collected. The fourth column is the amount of money collected that has been returned to the parish.

Parishes receive 25 percent of the funds collected up to its goal. Of the money a parish collects

over its goal, it receives half. A parish earns back 80 percent of the money exceeding 150 per-cent of its goal. In total, more than $13 million has been re-turned to the parishes.

Five parishes conducted “com-bined campaigns” to raise addi-tional funds for special parish needs.

The funds not returned to par-ishes went to diocesan programs including education endow-ments, faith formation, youth ministry, clergy retirement, social services and the cathedral resto-ration project.

Donor pledge redemption will continue into 2015.
