Kendra McDaniel enters her first season as Assistant Coach for the Softball program. Before joining the
Commodores, Kendra coached girls’ Varsity Volleyball, Basketball and Softball for two seasons. McDaniel helped
lead a struggling softball team finishing 6-11 in 2013 to an 18-8 record, District runner-up, and eighth place finish in
the Class 1A in 2014. In 2015 the softball team would finish 17-11 and have it’s first player in the history of the school
recognized as the Class 1A Offensive Player of the Year. No stranger to the area, McDaniel is a graduate of Port St.
Joe High School and a resident of Gulf County. Upon graduation, McDaniel signed with Thomas University for
their inaugural season of adding fast-pitch softball to the athletic program. McDaniel was recruited as short-stop
but quickly transitioned into a pitcher and earned the Duracell Award as a freshman for pitching every game in the
1995 season for the Nighthawks. In 1997 McDaniel found a new home in Americus GA with her second inaugural
team the Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern State University.
