    CDCF, in 2011. Visits to

    Harvard, students enrolling in

    college, and families being

    changed by education , have

    become the norm.With this

    said we are well aware that

    none of this would be possible

    if each and every one of you

    werent behind us, pushing usforward.

    Foundation is excited about theirnew partnership with NorthStar

    Marketing, for the creation of itsbrand new website. The websitere-launch will take place

    September 5, 2011. This site willfeature in depth coverage of the

    students and activities ofCDCF, from student updates,photo albums, and

    community information, toblogs and our BowTie Off

    the Rack. BowTie Off theRack is an initiative toacknowledge a new student

    within our program eachmonth, that we feel has

    practiced the lessons taughtin the BowTie Program.The student will be featured

    with a picture, video clip of

    them, and a description of what

    they have done. We lookforward to you getting to know

    these inspired and dedicatedyoung men and women.

    Congratulations!Congratulations to BowTie Boy, Andrew Williams, who has

    accepted a scholarship to attend Lancaster Country Day

    School. Andrew is a fifth grader who tested in the 97th

    percentile in reading comprehension during his placement

    exams. We wish Andrew continued success as represents

    himself, his family, and the BowTie Program at his new

    school.

    Diante Cherry was

    recently honored

    with a National

    Award from Under Armour for excellence in both academics andathletics. As a result, Diante has been invited to IMG Academies

    in Bradenton, Florida to train with other high school, college, and

    professional athletes! Congratulations to Diante on such a great

    accomplishment!

    BowTie Boys Tour Prestigious Colleges!The BowTie Program aims to expose our students to the opportunities that exist through education. One

    example of this was a recent visit to three of the worlds most prominent Universities. Visits to

    Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard, and Yale coincided with team building activities,

    provided 10 students of The BowTie Program a once in a lifetime experience.

    5th Annual GolfClassic

    On July 9th, The Children Deserve a ChanceFoundation hosted its annual golf classic to raise

    money for its BowTie Program and community

    outreach initiative. We would like to thank Meadia

    Heights for hosting this years tournament and

    dinner, as they have been a gracious sponsor and a

    tremendous host to CDCF for several years. At the Golf Classic, we welcomed MissPennsylvania; Amber Joi Watkins, DarriusHeyward Bey from the Oakland Raiders, Phil

    Costa from the Dallas Cowboys, Moise Fokou of

    the Philadelphia Eagles, and former Lancaster

    Catholic standout, Ryan Purvis of the Tampa Bay

    Buccaneers. Also in attendance was Ed Woods of

    TerpSys, CDCFs Title Sponsor for the past three

    years.

    Each year at the Golf Classic, we awardscholarships to four deserving high school

    graduates who are attending college in the fall.

    This year, we awarded scholarships to J.P.

    McCaskey graduates, Kristin McNeil and Andrew

    Williams. Conestoga Valley Graduates Alex

    Dienner and Huyen Do also received scholarships

    for their hard work and dedication. We want to

    wish them all well in the future as BowTie

    Graduates! Congratulations!

    Finally, we would like to thank everyone

    who came out and supported us; from volunteers,

    golfers, sponsors, and most importantly, our

    BowTie Students! We look forward to seeing you

    all on the course next year!!

    We have been hard at work over the summer in

    creating a dominating presence within the social

    media world. In doing so, we have created a

    Twitter account along with having our FaceBook

    Account!
