Guam law requires gov-guam agencies to conductbusiness in public, with adequate notice andaccommodations for people with disabilities. There aretimes when agencies can hold a secret meeting, called
executive session, but they must make notes of what issaid behind closed doors and release those notes sixmonths later if asked. All voting must happen in public.

A DZSP21 employee confessed to stealing more than$57,500 worth of copper wire from a Navy base storagecontainer. Frank S. Borja offered to plead guilty to theft of
government property, according to a proposed pleaagreement filed in the District Court of Guam. In the pleaagreement, Borja admits he stole the wire over a four-month period in 2011. Borja and another DZSP21
employee, who isnt named in court documents, workedtogether to swipe the wire.

Federal prosecutors asked for life in prison for a brothel(Blue House Club, Upper Tumon) owner who wasconvicted for luring impoverished women from Chuuk toforce them into prostitution on Guam. After a trial in
February 2011, Cha was convicted of 20 federal crimesand is set for sentencing on September, 20. She hasbeen continuously doing and dealing people over sea toearn more profits she expected ending and setting her
life in prison.

In an Associated Press - GFK poll on public attitudestowards the nations largest federal program, Social
Security is facing serious long-term financial problems.53 percent of adults would rather raise taxes and/or raise
the retirement age to fix the problems. 36% would rathercut monthly payments. Social Security is being hit bymillions of retiring baby boomers while leaving much lesspeople to pay into the system. The Social Security trust
funds will run out of money in 2033. By then the SocialSecurity will collect enough tax revenue to p[ay only 75percent of benefits.

Samsung on Saturday accused Apple of resorting to litigationin an effort to limit consumer choice after the iPhone makersaid it was seeking to stop the sale of Galaxy S IIIsmartphones in the United States.
Fresh from its $1 billion court victory over SamsungElectronics Co, Apple Inc., in a separate case, asked a federaldistrict court in San Jose, California, on Friday to add fourmore products to a list of Samsung goods that Apple saysinfringe its patents.
The new list of 21 products includes Samsung's flagshipsmartphone Galaxy S III as well as the Galaxy Note, anotherpopular Android phone. If the court finds those devices areinfringing Apple's patents and irreparably harming the U.S.company, it could temporarily halt sales in the U.S. marketeven before the trial begins.

The first human death from a new strain of pig flu wasreported Friday by state health officials in Ohio.
The Centers for Disease Control and Preventionconceded that there had been limited person-to-personspread of this virus. As recently as three weeks ago, the
agency insisted that all known cases had been causedby contact with pigs.
The new strain is known as H3N2v; the v is for
variant. Thus far, it has proved no more deadly thanseasonal flu and can be suppressed by Tamiflu andRelenza, the most common flu drugs.
