crochet pattern. A pink crochet shawl for

any time of year. Add this brightly colored

shawl to your wardrobe, add some color to

your life.

Materials:

Yarn: Bernat® Satin (120 g/4.2 oz; 230 m/251 yds) #00432 (Flamingo) 3 balls

Crochet Hook: Size 5.5 mm (U.S. I or 9) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 7 sps and 6 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in

pat.

Measurements: Approx 57 ins [144.5 cm]

wide x 31 ins [78.5 cm] deep.

Instructions:

Note: sp(s) = space(s). Pattern is calculated

in spaces throughout.

Ch 201.

1st row: (WS). 1 dc in 5th ch from hook

(counts as 1 dc and ch-1 sp). *Ch 1. Miss

next ch. 1 dc in next ch. Rep from * across.

99 sps. Turn.

2nd row: Ch 4. Miss first ch-1 sp. 1 dc in

next dc. (Ch 1. Miss next ch-1 sp. 1 dc in

next dc) twice. *(Yoh and draw up a loop.

Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) 3

times in next ch-1 sp. Yoh and draw through

MATERIALS

Bernat® Satin (100 g/3.5 oz; 149 m/163 yds) 2 balls each of: A: #04013 Mocha B: #04018 Buff C: #04521 Amber D: #04435 Cameo E: #04531 Rouge Crochet Hook: size 5.5 mm (U.S. I or 9)

or size needed to obtain gauge.

MEASUREMENTS Approx 24 x 70 ins [61 x 178 cm].

GAUGE 13 sc and 14 rows = 4 ins [10 cm]

Stripe Pat: Work 2 rows of each color in

following sequence: A, B, C, A, D, E. These

12 rows form Stripe Pat.

INSTRUCTIONS Note: Shawl is worked widthwise.

With A, ch 227.

1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc

in each ch to end of ch. 226 sc. Turn.

2nd and alt rows: Ch 2 (does not count as

st). 1 hdc in each st to end of row. Join B.

Turn.

First 2 rows of Stripe Pat are completed.

3rd row: With B, ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 3

hdc. *(Pulling long loop, 1 sc in next

foundation ch two rows below – long sc

FINISHING With RS facing join A with sl st to left

corner of side edge. Work in sc across side

edge of Shawl. Fasten off. Rep across other

side.



Black Mesh Shawl

openwork pattern with fun crochet ball trim.

Instructions to make the crochet "bobbles"

included. This crochet shawl is a great way

to wrap up in the evenings.

Materials:

Yarn: Senso Metallics (Article 740), size 3, color # 1404 – 54 balls (100yards/ball)

Crochet hook: US C/2 or D/3 (3mm) Optional crochet ball trim - add 5 balls Optional clear 5/16” diameter glue on

“jewels” - 95

Size: 52” square

Abbreviations: bo = bobble

ch(s) = chain

dc = double crochet

dc3tog = double crochet 3 together

dc4tog = double crochet 4 together

lp(s) = loop(s)

P-st = pattern stitch

rem = remain(ing)

rep = repeat

sc = single crochet

sc2tog = single crochet 2 together

Pattern Stitch: Start with a treble working the first two lps

only, dc3tog including one lp of treble,

Step by step description: With yo twice,

insert hook into ch or ch3 sp, yo and draw

up 1 lp, yo and draw through 2 lps on hook,

* yo, insert hook into next ch or same sp, yo

and draw loop through 2 lps on hook * rep 3

x, yo and draw through 4 lps on hook, yo

and draw through 2 lps on hook, yo and

draw through rem 2 lps, dc 3x around the

top of tr (working sts into ch refers to 1st

row only, in subsequent rows all sts are

worked into ch3 sp).

Instructions: With Senso Metallics ch 353.

Row 1: Start a P-st in 6th ch from hook and

into next 3chs, * ch3, skip 3 sts below P-st

into next 4 chs * rep across to last ch, tr, ch7



& turn.

Row 2: * P-st into ch3 sp, ch3 * ep across, tr

into top of t-ch, ch4 & turn.

Row 3: * P-st into ch3 sp, ch 3 * rep across

ending with P-st and tr into 4th t-ch, ch 7 &

Repeat rows 2 & 3 until the shawl is square,

ending with a row 2.

Fasten off.

Border: Start away from a corner and attach yarn to

the bottom of a treble along a side edge, ch2

and work dc3tog over the treble, * ch2, work

4dc bo into 2nd ch of next row’s t-ch, ch5, sl

st into 3rd ch from hook, ch2, work 4dc bo

into next ch, ch2, dc4tog over next tr * rep

to corner (ch 2, 4dc bo, ch5, sl st into 3rd ch

from hook, ch2, 4dc bo) all into top of

corner st, continue along top edge ch 2,

work dc4tog over ch3 sp, ch2, work 4dc bo

into 2nd dc , ch5, sl st into 3rd ch from

hook, ch2, work 4dc bo into next st *, rep to

corner ending with dc4tog over ch3 sp.

Repeat corners and edges to complete round,

close with a sl st. Fasten off.

Options:

Bobbles: Make as many as are needed

around the border.

Attach yarn with a sl st to a picot along

border leaving a long enough tail to weave

through the chain sts and into the ball, ch12,

holding the chain sts in front of the hook sc

8x into 2nd ch from hook, sc 2x into 1st sc

made, sc 2x into next st 7x (16sts), continue

to work in spiral rounds and sc 30x, stuff

with thread. *sc2tog, sc into next st * rep

until ball is closed. Fasten off.

Jewels: glue at regular intervals around the

inner edge of the shawl’s border.



Breezy Shawl

One size US I-9 (5.5 mm) crochet hook, or size to obtain gauge.

Sew neighboring sides of squares together,

beginning and ending at a corner treble

stitch, and stitching through one loop of

each stitch only. Note: The numbers on the

assembly diagram provide a recommended

order of assembly.

Edging

1. With RS facing, join B with slip st in any dc before a ch-sp along edge of shawl.

2. Round 1: Ch 1, sc in same st as join; work 2 sc in each ch-2 sp, 2 sc in each ch-3 sp, sc in each dc, 2 sc in each outer



corner tr; at inner corners, sc in dc after ch-2 sp, sc in the corner, sc in next dc; join with slip st in first st, turn. Note: Ensure that you have a multiple of 3 sts worked in this round, work one or two more sc if needed.

Crochet Shawl for Summer

wear over a dress on a chilly summer night.

Try this free crochet pattern to make a pretty

shawl with fringe for all of those special

occasions.

Materials:

Crochet hook: US size K/10.5 (6.5mm); tapestry needle (tn)

Caron International’s Feathers (65% acrylic / 35% nylon; 1.75oz / 50g, 70yd / 64m): 8 skeins #0009 Sandpiper

Instructions:

GAUGE

In pattern st, 5 [dc, ch 1] and 5 rows = 4"/10

cm

Pattern stitch is very flexible; Gauge is not

crucial for this project.

STITCHES USED

Chain (ch)

Double crochet (dc)

Single crochet (sc)

Triple crochet (tr)

Slip stitch (sl st)

SHAWL

1. Ch 4; join with a sl st to first ch to form a ring.

2. Row 1: Ch 4 (counts as tr), work 2 dc, 1 tr in ring, turn—4 sts.

3. Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as tr, ch 1), work [1 dc in space between sts, ch 1] twice, work [dc, ch 1, tr] in turning ch (inc), turn—5 sts/4 ch-1 spaces.

Flower Triangle Shawl

a light and lacy cover with large flower

embellishments. Three different crochet

flowers adorn this lovely crochet shawl.

MATERIALS:

Yarn: Caron International's Simply Soft (100% acrylic; 6 oz/170 g, 315 yds/288 m skein): 24 oz (4 skeins) Shown in: #9913 Lt. Country Blue

Hook: One size US H-8 (5mm), or size to obtain gauge

Yarn needle

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:

approximately 76"/193cm across upper edge

x 38"/96.5cm long, excluding fringe

GAUGE: In Mesh st, 8 mesh sts (dc, ch)

and 8 rows = 4"/10cm. Gauge is not critical

for this project.

STITCHES USED

Chain (ch): Begin by making a slip knot on

your hook. * Wrap the yarn around the hook

(yarn over) and pull up a loop, [draw the

yarn through the loop on the hook to form

the first chain]. Repeat from * for number of

chains required. Note: The loop on the hook

is not included when counting the number of

chains.

Double Crochet (dc): Yarn over hook,

follows: Slip st in first ch-1 space and in the

Block pieces lightly. Attach the Flowers to

Shawl in groups of 4, one group on each

corner area of shawl or as desired. Using

yarn needle, weave in ends.

Fringe

Cut strands 12" long. Holding 3 strands

together, fold fringe in half. Using crochet

hook, * insert hook from WS to RS into first

st at upper corner, pull through loop, insert

ends into loop and pull tight against edge;

repeat from *, working a fringe approx

every 1/2" along the 2 sides of Shawl; leave

upper edge without fringe.
