DOING LISTENING
How to have less meetings
Could you just have the conversation now rather than deferring listening until the meeting happens?
Are you using meetings to defer decisions?
How are you collaborating?

Would a daily/weekly huddle save time?
1. What’s the good news? 2. What are you working in
today? 3. What’s our progress to
deliver the Business Plan? 4. Where are you stuck? 5. Are you ok for tomorrow?
Need a clue about how to behave?
OK you so you need a meeting at THT….
Follow our values and you won’t go far wrong…
- Arrive on time
Living the Values in Meetings - Examples
- Ensure you’ve completed any actions from the last meeting
- Find ways to include those who are present but silent - Don’t talk over or interrupt other speakers
- Remove Distractions – no laptops, iPads or phones unless they are being used to take notes or deliver presentations - Design agendas that are purposeful and therefore respectful of people’s time and commitment
- Every now and again, schedule time at the end of a meeting to evaluate how that meeting went: • What did we do in this
meeting that really worked well?
• What happened that we never want to repeat?
• Are there bad habits that we seem to keep falling into?
