Burlington producesfirst Equity Report According to the report's website, "Thisreport is not intended to be acomprehensive analysis of all datarelated to the City of Burlington and itsresidents, but rather a resource to help inform discussion,evaluation, and policy decisions that improve the provision ofaccess to City services and programs. As such, the EquityReport concludes with a series of initial recommendations andcontains several requests for public feedback to improvecontinued efforts to examine the City’s work through an equitylens."

The report features information on demographics, economicwell-being, housing, community and natural resources,education and workforce development, public safety andcommunity health, and findings and recommendations. See thefull report at www.burlingtonvt.gov/it/reports/equity

CommunityPartnerSpotlight:ParentUniversityPU is hoping to findstudents who wouldvolunteer with themon providing activitiesfor youth that attendwith their parents(while the parents arein the workshops) -along the lines of artprojects and otherengaging activities.For the fall session,they will have 25parents, who typicallycome fromBurlington's NewAmerican population.The fall program runsOct. 22- Dec. 20, M-Th from 3:30-5pm atCP Smith School.The coordinator ishoping to findstudents who are ableto commit to at leastone day per week(realizing that oursemester ends earlierthan their program).Contact SydneyHinckley for moreinformation.

Champlain College Representatives attend UNUniversity's Regional Center of Expertise Meetingof the AmericasFrom September 22-25, 2019, Dr. Valerie Esposito and Dr. Christina Erickson representedChamplain College at the RCE Meeting of the Americas , hosted by the Greater BurlingtonSustainability Education Network , of which Champlain College is a member. This meeting broughttogether delegates from North, Central and South America (from Venezuela to Saskatchewan,Canada) to discuss the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, Education for Sustainability, and inparticular Human Health & the Environment. 10th Annual Trash Bash ResultsOn October 9th, we had our 10th annual Trash Bash Waste Sort in the IDX Student Center atChamplain College. We sorted trash into recyclables, food waste/liquids (compost), batteries (e-waste), and single-use coffee cups. We found that roughly 41.4% of items (by weight) placedinto the trash were not trash items . See the full results on our blog.

Green Revolving Fund - NextProposal deadline is November 1,2019What is the GRF? Primarily a fund thatsupports energy efficiency projects here oncampus, but also has a portion available forprojects proposed by Champlain Collegestudents, faculty or staff. Have an idea for a project? Email us the ideaand we'll give you feedback on how best toproceed. Proposals for projects are due November 1 andMarch 1. Learn more at
