Maintenance WizardInstallation
• Set up a shell. You must set up either remote shell (rsh/remsh) or secured shell (ssh). The tool will not work without having at least one of these shells successfully configured.
• For release 1.x, Install a new standalone Oracle 9i ORACLE_HOME for use by the Maintenance Wizard.
• The Maintenance Wizard version 1.x requires Oracle RDBMS 9i with iAS (9.2.0.6). This is the ONLY VERSION of the RDBMS which is certified to work with the MW. In addition, we recommend that you do not attempt to "re-use" an existing 9i database.
• For release 2.x , Install a new standalone Oracle 10g ORACLE_HOME for use by the Maintenance Wizard.
• The Maintenance Wizard version 2.x requires a 10g Oracle_Home for RDBMS and iAS (Two Separate Oracle Homes)
NOTE: You CANNOT use the same database that the Applications are running in. The tool must be installed in a separate database from the Applications.
