What is Duke of Edinburgh Award?
Allows students to gain loads of new experiences, discover talents, challenge themselves and meet new people
Gives them skills, confidence and a view on life that everyone is looking for, from employers to colleges and universities.
Qualifies them to receive a certificate from UK which is accepted anywhere in the world as an extra curricular qualification
Why do this?
The programme we conducted at school has been in line with the actual programme
Therefore those who completed any level will be directly absorbed to the next level of the Edinburgh Award
They will also be given a certificate from school for the levels they completed
What happens to those who completed Bronze /Silver in former programme?
So far only the excursion and skills were done in school and in new programme children will train in skills, physical and volunteering categories
Silver award students went only to Sri Lanka; they will go to new destinations like Oman, Dubai etc.
Gold award will be added to the programme and they will go to Europe for their excursion
Children will get certificates from UK
