What is GPRS

n GPRS is the abbreviation of General Packet Radio

Service

n GPRS provides end to end packet switch service for user

based on GSM

n GPRS make the best use of existing GSM network

n GPRS provides highly efficient use of radio resources

n GPRS provides as high as 171.2Kbps access rate

n GPRS based on standard open interface

What is PS

n PS is the packet switch network in WCDMA core network

n PS provides end-to-end packet switch service for users

n PS has almost the same elements and network structure with GPRS

n PS can provides access for GPRS radio access equipment and 2/3G hybrid network

n WCDMA technology introduced to improve radio resources utilization ratio

n WCDMA-PS provides as high as 2Mbps access rate

n WCDMA-PS system based on standard interface

n CG implements the following functions:

ÑCDRs generated by GSNs collected in real time;

ÑBuffering the CDRs

ÑPreprocessing the CDRs, such as CDR

consolidation and filtering, deleting certain CDR

fields, and modifying or adding some CDR fields.

ÑTransferring the CDRs to the BC.

Ñ SGSN and MSC/VLR relationship establishment and

maintenance

Improve the radio resource utilization ratio
