Egemin’s zone picking solutions are ideal for distribution centers with a large range of fast moving products. We offer the following zone picking solutions: » Product picking from zone-to-zone » Batch picking with sorting area Benefits Cost Saving: Zone picking divides the order picking area into a number of smaller zones. This allows your staff to work in their zone without having to cover large areas. As a result, walking distances and distribution costs can be reduced considerably. Improved Ergonomics: Operators work in favorable conditions due to the optimized position of the totes/cartons and the shorter walking distances. The ergonomically designed order picking stations and logical product flows will also increase the productivity of your staff. Quality of Deliveries: The order picking process is fully controlled by our E’wms® software. E’wms® keeps your inventory up-to-date and completes orders in real-time. This leads to fewer picking errors, shorter throughput times, higher picking efficiency, and increased validation of the picking process. In addition, at the end of each picking cycle a weight check can be performed on each completed box before it is closed. E’wms® compares the result with the unit weight stored in the software and rejects the box in case of a mismatch. Software Supported Order Picking: E’wms® supports several picking methods: order per order, wave or batch picking, pick & sorting out, and zone picking. It allows for an optimal throughput and distribution of orders in the order picking process. E’wms® helps operators choose the right box size, offers supporting technologies (such as pick-to light, voice picking, RF picking, pick-to-list, and pick-to-label), and also provides assistance for attaching the right shipping labels and documents.
