Zombies actually enjoyreading, though they have their own ideas of what constitutes good literature. As one of the most

erudite zombies known, you have beeninvited to participate in a special debate

at the annual conference of the International Association of ProfessionalAcademics, Researchers and ReanimatedCorpses. The scholars will be defending

the classic books Pride and Prejudice andThe Good War . You will defend Pride and

Prejudice and Zombies and World War Z

as “superior” literature. You will need to thoroughly explore a different school of literary criticism ineach speech of your defense (constructives and rebuttals) and cite specific sections and quotations

from the source material. Your constructive case should be five minute five minutes long; you will alsohave a five-minute rebuttal.

Zombie Virus is ruthless. No one will be safe. Draw from the greatest mindsof Ancient Philosophy and Classical Literature to prevent the loss of intellect. The Zombie Virus spreads quickly, like the plague of old,

destroying intellectual capability, diminishing the honor of true wisdom, and tormenting those who become reanimated shells of humanity. As one of themost distinguished thinkers of your time, you have been invited to

participate in a special debate at the annual conference of the International Association of Professional Academics, Researchers andReanimated Corpses. As a scholar you will defend the following classicalpieces of Literature: Pride and Prejudice and The Good War . The

Zombies will try to consume your brain matter, stating that Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and World War Z are superior. DO not be swayed

from your task. DO not lose focus. DO not jeopardize your brain. You willneed to reference at least two different rhetorical elements in yourdefense as well as symbolism and theme and cite specific sections and quotations from the sourcematerial. Your constructive case should be five minutes long; you will also have a five-minute rebuttal.

whether zombies are actually able to enjoy readingand scholarly pursuits. Zombies havedemonstrated an appetite for what constitutesgood literature to them and have challengedscholars to a special debate at the annualconference of the International Association of

Professional Academics, Researchers and Reanimated Corpses. The scholars will be

defending the classic books Pride and Prejudice and The Good War . Zombies will defendPride and Prejudice and Zombies and World War Z as “superior” literature. Your groupwill create a fifteen-minute long documentary of the issues involved and the debate. It can be can “agitprop” documentary (such as those of Michael Moore, Ben Stein, orMorgan Spurlock) or it can be a more historical documentary (such as those of KenBurns). Everyone in your group should have a role (producer, director, researcher,

narrator, camera work, editor).

Zombies and World War Z as “superior” literature. Eachof you will write an article of at least 750 words on the Zombie Debates in the style of the New Journalism, whichuses the techniques of fiction and reporter involvement to tell stories.
