Sophisticated drive technologies for long and superlong machinesSuperlong machines are increasingly in demand for commodity production. However, superlength places considerable demands on the system because the torsional forces occurring must not affect the quality of the yarn. The bottom rollers in particular are subjected to a torsion that the Zinser 351 counteracts with stronger middle bottom rollers. An auxiliary motor at the centre of a machine, which is generally used on other machines, is not an option for the Zinser 351 because it takes up space – impairing productivity per sqm – and requires additional maintenance.

Only with Zinser: 1,680 spindles with maximum use of spaceA cost-effective way of neutralising torsional forces is put into effect by the Zinser 351’s stronger middle bottom rollers. Their diameter of 30.5 mm, instead of the conventional 27 mm, makes them 20 % more resistant to torsion.In addition, drive motors fix the middle bottom rollers in place when the machine is stopped. This ensures high Zinser spinning stability at super-length – cost-effectively, without auxiliary equip-ment and without requiring extra space. Higher speeds with OptiStepEnsure maximum productivity with OptiStep. The start-up, tip and main spinning speeds can be defined very accurately by a 10-point speed curve. This means you can operate far closer to the technological spinning limit across the entire bobbin build and achieve peak production. The traveller service life is also extended.

Low maintenance, energy efficient and highly productiveFor Schlafhorst, quality technology means highest quality compo- nents at the crucial points. The main distinguishing feature of the Zinser 351 is therefore the drive technology. With its maintenance- free, energy-efficient tangential belt drive, the Zinser 351 combines highest productivity with outstanding efficiency.

The low energy consumption is the advantage of the Zinser tan-gential belt drive. This is the result of the low number of deflec tion points, which ensures a straight-running belt without twists and a small belt surface – for less friction and minimal air turbulence. The highly uniform surface of the belt is crucial for quality. The spindles are steadily driven in a gentle and completely vibration- free way. The advantage: the variation of the spindle speed is below 1 % with uniform yarn twist.

Without additional cooling circuitsThe engines make a difference, too: The spindle and drafting system drives are powered by energy-efficient motors. The drives are designed specifically for the output called for in the spinning machines and they do not heat up. This means: costly energy is converted to speed, not heat.

As secure as a gear wheel: Monitoring and control through sensor technologyThe fine tuning of speed, twist and draft is essential for productivity and quality when ring spinning. It must be assured at all times that the values set are actually realised across the entire length of the machine. That is why the Zinser 351 relies on state-of-the-art, fully controlled drive technology: All speeds are sensor-monitored online and precisely readjusted on an ongoing basis in real time. As a re-sult, the drive concept combines the operational comfort of electro-nic control with the accuracy and dependability of a gear wheel.

Software-supported control circuitSpindle speed, draft and twist are controlled online. The system sensor-controls both the motor speeds and the actual speed of the drafting system’s bottom rollers, synchronises the values among themselves and readjusts, if required, in split seconds.

Maximum productivity, satisfied customersThe Zinser 351 achieves extremely low yarn break rates on account of this highly precise all-round control of every spinning parameter. The yarn count cannot change subtly and unnoticedly – consistency in the yarn quality from spindle to spindle is guaranteed.

Precision and quiet running at highest speedsZinser high-speed spindles are another reason for the high productive capacity of the Zinser 351. The precise and highly stable high-speed spindle bearings in particular ensure absolute quiet run-ning at top speeds.

The spindles are economic because of their low energy consumption. They do scarcely require maintenance and have a long service life.

EasySpin Safety in case of power failures

Maximum productivity in case of power failure The Zinser 351 buffers short power failures up to 2 seconds and continues running without yarn breaks. For this purpose, the mains power failure support system continuously monitors the power supply and the speed of the machine. If the power fails, the spindle drive motors operate in generator mode and supply the rest of the machine’s motors with energy.

In case of a longer power failure, the machine shuts down gracefully. After the energy supply has been restored, the machine starts running steadily again without further yarn breaks. As a result, no additional effort to remedy yarn breaks is needed and thus no extra labour input required.

Spinning, not cleaning Additional advantages of the tangential belt drive: It is encapsulated and the belt surface area is very small. Doffing automation with maximum efficiency: CoWeMat

Uniquely time-saving: CoWeFeedZinser has the solution with the lowest labour input: CoWeFeed, the unsorted tube feeding. The empty tubes are simply dumped into the feed container – no sorting is required. One filling is sufficient for a full takeoff, even with superlong ring spinning machines.

Operates without problems thanks to clever designJammed tubes will not cause CoWeFeed to malfunction, regardless of their position and orientation. Even with 1,680 spindles, removing the bobbins and feeding the empty tubes is carried out rapidly between two doffings – for maximum productivity.

No controls requiredWorldwide, the Zinser CoWeMat stands for the most economic doffing technology. In the case of other doffing systems design-related malfunction risks are known, which require persistent controls. Here, individual leaks can even cause machine stoppage. Not so with CoWeMat: If a gripper malfunctions, the CoWeMat and the machine continues to run. This is because every outer gripper is supplied compressed air separate from the machine’s vacuum system. Moreover, the safety membrane in each gripper ensures that no air-ducting elements are not subjected to mech-anical stress.

Even for high-tenacity yarnsA light barrier monitors the smooth application flows of the doffing. In case of a malfunction, the machine shuts down automatically. Even high-tenacity yarns are safely cut.
