“Landon is a model student, industrious, energetic, engaged, and eager to learn as much as possible. I never have to ask him to do his best work because working to his potential is something that he does automatically. He is very bright and more than competent in all subject areas…Landon is everyone’s friend, getting along with all of his classmates and showing good manners with all adults that he encounters. He has an infectious personality and sense of humor. He is always pleasant!

“I have no doubt that he will one day be a very productive adult member of our community. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with such a fine young man!”

Landon lives in Harmony with his family.

After Rotary President Ron Elliott presented Landon with the award, Landon stepped to the podium and spoke to the group. “Thanks for this honor,” he said. “It’s very special to have this honor.”

Lea Birnbacher (left), the Rotary Youth Exchange student hosted by our club, invited all Rotary members – and all their friends and family – to a special dinner to raise money for ShelterBox. The dinner will be Saturday, May 13 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, at the Church of Christ, 112 Mennonite Ln., Harmony, PA.

Lea will be serving Spanish food. If anyone would like to help with the cooking, please let her know. Lea also asked we let her know we’re coming so she can plan the meal. To contact Lea, here is her email address: [email protected].

Marie Grant said Lea has already raised over $300 for ShelterBox. Let’s help Lea raise more money to help those left homeless as a result of natural disasters and wars around the world!
