Zebras are one of the best known animals of Africa, home to a variety of ecosystems including grassy

plains, savannas, wood landsor shrubs, mountains and coastal hills.

• The stripes are also at greater or lesser extent

in the legs and the backs of donkeys and wild

horses, and manifest more strongly in hybrids

Zebras have a total of forty teeth,

excellent eyesight and a great sense of hearing, and

tend to have larger and rounded ears than horses.

The average life expectancy of the

zebras is about thirty

Zebras communicate with each other with sharp barks and cries. 

Zebra ears indicate their mood. When a zebra is calm, 

tense or friendly, ears remain erect. When afraid, 

they move forward. Whenangered, the ears move back
