 Action Plan in its annual Budget • Human resources has been dedicated 

through the formation of committee whose responsibility is to ensure that 

the G & GBV action plan is implemented.

Government Departments, the police and NGOsduring the Policy and Implementation W/shop.This ensured that other players at district level

benefitted from the workshop and were able toshare the knowledge acquired to other peoplethat they interact in their course of work. 

• In addition, these same stakeholders are part 

of the G&GBV action. This means that the CEO is making use of the human financial resources that they bring to the table.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION – HOW DOES THE COE TRACK AND EVALUATE PROGRESS?

• The COE has developed a set of targets and indicators to measure progress.This is used as a tool for monitoring

WHAT IMPACT CAN THE COE SHOW WITH REFERENCE TO THE 28 TARGETS OF THE 

SADC PROTOCOL ON GENDER AND 

DEVELOPMENT? • Under Representation, sex disegreted 

data is being updated.

• On Gender based violence. Street 

lighting budgeted for. This will help to make the streets safer for women.

• Gender in existing services. Street naming exercise is in progress to help emergency services locate who call for emergency services.

• Practice is sustainable especially that it is being mainstreamed.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE LESSONS LEARNED? 

• Mainstreaming of Gender makes resource mobilization easier and ensures sustainability.

• Sensitization of Key personnel makes it easy to implement the process.

• Council intends to employ the same strategies when replicating the COE   process to lower organs of LG and other Key stakeholders in the near future.
