Title: National Changes in Erythropoiesis Stimulating Agents (ESAs) Before and After Dissemination of Black Box Warnings and Implementation of National Coverage Decisions and Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS) in the cancer settings Funding agency: Doris Levkoff Meddin Medication Safety Education Program Amount: $15,000, 2012-2013 PI: Jun Wu; Role: Co-Investigator This study involves a secondary database analysis that evaluates patterns of care for ESAs, an important drug that is used extensively in oncology and the chronic kidney disease settings. 3. Title: South Carolina Opioid Safety Initiative (SCOSI) Funding Agency: The US Food and Drug Administration Amount: $49,684; Jan 2012 – Dec 2012 – extension to Dec 2013 PI: Charles Bennett; Role: Post-Doctoral Associate SCOSI is a novel grant that seeks to lay the foundation for training health care professionals in the use of Prescription Monitoring Program of South Carolina and also in evidence based approaches to opioid prescribing. In the short term, it will develop a statewide collaboration that will propose a Blueprint for a long-lasting initiative to decrease rates of misuse, overuse, and under abuse of opioid narcotics to cancer patients and will evaluate a statewide database to identify individual physicians who are high prescribers of opioids to cancer patients. 4. Title: Long-term adherence to hormone therapy and associated outcomes in women with primary breast cancer Funding agency: ASPIRE I - University of South Carolina Amount: $ 14,046, May 2011 – April 2013 PI: Jun Wu; Role: Research Associate The objective of this project is to assess the adherence to adjuvant hormone therapy and associated outcomes including healthcare utilization and costs in patients with primary breast cancer using South Carolina Medicaid data linked to South Carolina Central Cancer Registry (SCCCR). 5. Title: Determining Patterns of Opioid Misuse and Misprescribing in South Carolina Funding agency: ASPIRE I - University of South Carolina Amount: $ 11,687, 2014 – 2015 PI: Zaina Qureshi The objective of this project is to conduct an epidemiologic analysis of South Carolina prescription data to determine patterns of opioid prescribing, and to use geo-spatial mapping to identify geographical locations with the highest rates of opioid misuse for targeted interventions within the state.

Title: Economic impact of Tuberculosis among Bangladeshi population and Economic Evaluation of the Current Approaches of Tuberculosis Control in Bangladesh Funding agency: WHO TDR Amount: $ 50,000, 2014 – 2018 PI: Rifat Haider; Role: Mentor The objective of this project is to assess economic impact of drug sensitive and drug resistant tuberculosis on the afflicted population of Bangladesh. 9.
