Summer Rubber for any Wallet Most of the tires belong to speed category H (up to 210 km/h). But there are no rules without exceptions, so the list includes some slower and one faster model. The absolute leader was the Pirelli Cinturato P1 with a score of 945. But "better" doesn't mean "expensive". The price/quality ratio of 2.43 is close to the average value. The Russian-made Nokian Hakka Green was in second place with a score of 939. Its price/quality ratio is noticeably higher: 2.77. The Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 was in third place with a score of 925. The price/quality ratio of 2.70 is slightly better than for the Nokian. The Russian-made Nokian Nordman SX, with a score of 924, was literally snapping at the heels of the Portuguese "German". It was only one point below the Conti, but with a price/quality ratio of 2.27, the "northerner" was much more attractive. The Hankook Kinergy eco was in fifth place with a slight lag. It had a score of 903, although in price/quality ratio (2.44) it competed with the test leader Pirelli. The BFGoodrich g-Grip was right behind. The model was only one point lower than the Hungarian "Korean", although it was in another speed group (up to 190 km/h). It also had the best price/quality ratio (2.38) of the first six models after the Nordman. To our surprise, the Chinese GT Radial Champiro VP1 took seventh place. Its score of 889 is a real breakthrough, and the price/quality ratio of 2.19 isn't bad either. By the way, this success is an exception, not the rule for Chinese manufacturers. The Cordiant Road Runner was in eighth place with a score of 886 and had an even better price/quality ratio: 2.14. Two tires with scores of 883 each were in ninth and tenth places: old-timer Amtel Planet T-301, which first appeared in 2006, and the Toyo Proxes CF1, which is almost as old. The Planet T-301 is the best buy based on our tests, with a price/quality ratio of 1.98, while the Proxes CF1 (price/quality ratio is 2.49) competed with the Pirelli and Hankook models in this indicator. The Bridgestone MY-02 Sporty Style managed a score of only 878 points and eleventh place. It also had the most unfavorable price/quality ratio: 2.87. The slow Yokohama BluEarth model was in twelfth place with a score of 865. But its price/quality ratio of 2.43 was a lot better than for the "Bridge". The Korean Nexen Classe Premiere CP641 was in thirteenth place. Its score was only 2 points lower than the Japanese model from the Philippines, but its price/quality ratio of 2.49 made it slightly less worth buying. The slow Barum Brillantis 2 with a score of 852 and a price/quality ratio of 2.35 closes the group of worthwhile tires (models that scored at least 850 in our estimation). The Contyre Megapolis scored only 819 points. That was 126 points behind the champion! But the price/quality ratio of 2.08 is quite good, if you consider the stronger Amtel in the middle of the rating.
