To know God and to make Him known": this is the motto of Youth With A Mission International. One way YWAM Faith Harvest Helpers does this is by offering Discipleship Training Schools. We will be hosting our next one beginning June 18th. Discipleship Training School, or "DTS", is YWAM's en-try -level school aimed at equipping students with the tools to live a life of much greater intimacy with God and much greater grounding in both intel-lectual and heart knowledge. DTS is a season of tremendous focused spir-itual growth and grounding in God's word, God's ways, and participating in God's work in reaching a lost and needy world.

The lecture phase of DTS lasts three months. It includes teaching by some of the most dynamic and seasoned mis-sionaries in the world on topics such as the father heart of God, hearing God's voice, spiritual warfare, cross-cultural ministry, the nature and character of God, and developing a Biblical world view. Outreach and ministry opportunities are provided throughout each week, along with additional dynamic curriculum, group recreational outings, and both small group and one-on-one counseling. After the lecture phase, students have the opportunity to travel on out-reach for an additional two months. We will be organizing a series of short term service opportunities at various different urban and inner-city settings in the western United States to give students exposure to a wide variety of urban ministries. The weekly outreach times during the lecture phase will include initial exposure to some of these aspects of ministry as we partner with urban ministry efforts right here in the Olympia, Washington area. The cost of the lecture phase is $2,100 for commuting students and $2500 for those in residence. The cost of the outreach phase will range between $2,500 and $3,100.

Director’s Corner: A father was teaching his

three-year-old daughter the Lord’s Prayer. He would

say the line and she would repeat the line after him.

Finally, she decided, I know the prayer and I want to

do it. She carefully enunciated each word, right up to

the end of the prayer. “Lead us not into temptation,”

she prayed, “but deliver us from e-mail.” Not a bad

prayer! God calls us to pray about everything! We tell

God exactly what we want. We pray the particu-

lars. When the wedding ran low on wine, Mary was-

n’t content to say, “Help us, Jesus.” She was specific.

She said, “They have no more wine” (John 2:3

NIV). A specific prayer is a serious prayer. When we

offer specific requests, God knows the same. — Paul

It’s All Spiritual Any God ordained vision will have roots in God’s over-arching vision for your ministry. Yet many people think their vision has no such spiritual significance. From God’s perspective, there are no spiritual versus nonspiritual components of your life. There is no secular division of your life. You are a spiritual being. Therefore, everything you are involved in has spiritual overtones. He sees you holistically. When Jesus purchased us at Calvary, he pur-chased all of us; body, soul, and spirit. There is no divi-sion. We are to glorify God through our actions, regard-less of where they take place and what role we are in at that time. We are to glorify God as a spouse, parent, friend, employee, boss, and citizen. What we do at the office is not more spiritual that what we do at church or at home. Consequently, there is a spiritual element to your vision regardless of which category of life it ema-nates from. Your vision does not exist apart from your responsibility to glorify God. The challenge is to discover the link. You are not your own, you were bought at a price. How can my Heavenly Father be glorified through my vision? Remember your life is a small part of the grand plan for the universe that he envisioned and put into motion long before you or I came on the scene. It is no exaggeration to say that God’s vision for each of us was formed long before we came into existence and ful-filling it will have lasting effects for ages to come. I desire to reach people to know the Good news of Jesus, and receive Him as Lord and Savior. I know reaching out is His vision for me, have you found yours?

Gleanings for the Hungry Trip Join the FHH team for the annual mission trip to Gleanings for

the Hungry on March 18 to March 23, 2018. The only require-

ment is a heart for missions, especially to feed the hungry in the

world, and a willingness to serve in whatever capacity needed.

Our mission will be to process healthy dried soup mix, mainte-

nance, and quilting. Besides work assignments, volunteers will

participate in daily worship, devotions and prayer. All ages can

help; families are encouraged to use this opportunity to intro-

duce their children to missions and experience the blessings of

giving. For information, please contact: Marge Johnson at

[email protected] or 360-438-9266 or 360-480-8055.
