health and government

revenue!

The Addis Ababa Action Agenda, adopted following the 3rd International Conference on

Financing for Development:

Para 32: … price and tax measures on tobacco can be an effective and important means to

reduce tobacco consumption and health care costs, and represent a revenue stream for

 financing for development in many countries.

THE OPPORTUNITY• Governments need to take action!

• The seventh session of the FCTC Conference of the Parties

will take place in less than six month.

• Governments will meet in November 2016 to discuss

progress on WHO FCTC implementation and will adopt

decision to guide global tobacco control for the next two

years.
