FINANCIAL OVERVIEW:
All costs for the program (camps, coaching, uniforms, etc.) are the responsibility of the families involved since cheerleading is a completely self-funded sport at YVHS. As the actual costs for the year are estimated (as closely as possible) you will receive periodic invoices/statements, which will reflect payments made to your account along with your share of all costs incurred to date.
Uniform fees will be paid directly to our uniform vendor Varsity by check or credit card. (More info at parent meeting) Your monthly payments to YVHS Cheer will be for the estimated program costs less the uniform fees. The total estimated costs for this year’s program is set at $950 for new members and $650 for returners. This does not include coaching fees due monthly. This is a rough estimate and is subject to change.
GPA Requirements
Cheerleaders are student Athletes – note that student comes first. The District requirement to participate as a student athlete is that the student maintains at least a 2.0 GPA at all times.
Grades will be reviewed each term (quarter and semester) to determine eligibility to stay on the squad. If a students GPA drops below 2.0 a one-time waiver may be requested from the school administration, however; the waiver is not guaranteed and students should not assume that they have that as an option. If progress reports show that a student is in danger of falling below a 2.0, peer tutoring should be utilized until the grades are improved.
If grades do not improve and a student is cut from the squad after the contract is signed all financial agreements must be fulfilled.
