Tougher than paper and more expressive than film.
YUPO is mainly made from polypropylene.
It does not contain wood pulp.
YUPO does not use chemicals that place a strain on the
environment, such as toxic heavy metals, accumulative toxins, and
ozone-depleting substances.
Protectingthe Air
Protectingthe Forest
Offcuts that are produced during the production process can be reused as raw material.
Trim Edgeare Reusable
The amount of CO2 emitted during production is about the same as that for conventional
paper, and less than film.
* If natural paper is compared with FGS 80* Calculated based on surface area
CombatingClimate Change
Used YUPO can be recycled as a refuse paper and plastic
fuel (RPF) for boilers, etc.
Becomes anEnergy Resource
Produced in a factory with ISO 14001 certification.ISO 14001 is the international standard for “Environmental Management Systems.” It requires continuous improvement of the environmental impact of business activities.YUPO CORPORATION obtained this certification for our Kashima factory and research and development laboratory in March 2000, and based on our environmental policy, we have been contributing to the local community and global environment through energy conservation, recycling, waste reduction, and prevention of contamination and accidents.
Making conventional paper requires vast amounts of clean water, but YUPO
requires very little water.
Protectingthe Water
Compared to paper…
Compared to film…
Environmentally friendly synthetic paper to protect the forest, the water, and the air.
3
YUPO was designed as a new-age paper product to replace conventional paper, which is made from wood pulp. It contributes to environmental conservation and reduced environmental impact in a number of ways.
YUPO is known for its water resistance, but that is not the only advantage it possesses. It has many other advantages over other synthetic paper, and this versatility is its greatest strength.
YUPO has exceptional water resis-tance, so it will rarely lose strength or become misshapen when wet.
Water resistant
Far tougher than paper in terms of stretching, folding, and shock resistance. Even tougher laminated products are available.
Tough
YUPO produces approximately 1/100 of the dust of high-quality paper. It hardly produces any dust, even when folded or abraded.
Clean (low dust)
Due to its special construction, which incorporates micro-voids (microscopic pores), YUPO is only 2/3 of the weight of coated paper of an equivalent thickness. It is so light, it floats.
Light (cushioned)
The surface is smooth, so it also provides a very attractive finish when used for lamination or other such purpose.
Smooth surface
There is almost no deterioration in quality when exposed to oils, acids, alkalis, or organic solvents, etc.
Oil and chemical resistant
YUPO is suitable for a range of printing methods, producing vibrant colors – just like paper.
Prints clearly
In addition to oil-based pens, some products can be written on with pencils. YUPO provides a smooth writing surface without sticking or slipping.
Suitable for handwriting
A range of unique products is available, such as adhesive products, translucent products, and metallic products. Products are also available in a range of calipers.
Many variations available
<Disposing of YUPO>・When discarding it as ordinary household waste, please dispose of it as the category of
plastic defined by the municipality of residence.・When disposing of it as waste at a business establishment, please treat it as industrial waste.

・This micro-suction sheet can be stuck to smooth surfaces and then removed and reused, even multiple times.・Easily adheres to surfaces while excluding air.・Because adhesive is not used, no residue is left on the surface after removal.・If the adhesive surface becomes dirty, rinse off the dirt with water and then dry it to restore the adhesive properties.* Printing is not possible on the adhesive side.* Cannot be used for car stickers or on wired glass.* Not suited to outdoor uses.
・This sheet uses static electricity to adhere to surfaces.・It can stick to uneven surfaces such as walls.・Because adhesive is not used, no residue is left on the surface after removal.* When peeled off once, the material loses some of static electricity power, so it cannot be reused multiple times.* Not suited to outdoor uses.

YUPO’s unique production method is patented around the world.YUPO is made up of 3 layers. The base layer is stretched both lengthwise and crosswise, while the surface layer is stretched crosswise (bi-axially oriented film forming process). This production method is only possible because of our unique technology, which is protected by patents around the world, including in Japan, America, and China.

YUPO’s StructureStrength comes from the base layer, while the paper-like characteristics come from the surface layers.YUPO is a synthetic paper made up of 3 layers: a base layer and a surface layer laminated to each side. The base layer gives YUPO strength, while the stretching process provides the surface layers with innumerable micro-voids (microscopic pores), which make it very white, as well as lightweight and suitable for handwriting.

Check YUPO’s grain. The grain direction has double the stiffness.Just like paper, YUPO has a grain. The grain runs along the first dimension listed in the label, so make sure you check this before use. Many YUPO sheets have a short grain; however some products that are prone to fanning out (inaccurate registration) have a long grain.
For uses that require stiffness, such as swing POPs, make sure the grain is aligned with the curve. The stiffness in the direction of the grain has twice that of the grain.
