"SPECIAL CHRISTMAS REQUEST" We are in the fourth week of Advent and have been spiritually preparing our hearts, minds and souls to celebrate the birth of our Savior and his second coming. We would like to suggest that every member of our Parish prayerfully

consider making an extra monetary sacrificial gift in December. Consider it a birthday gift to Jesus! As we approach the end of the first half of our Fiscal year, as you know from the bulletin, we are running $24,000.00 behind our budgeted needs. Please consider making an additional gift equal to your weekly giving, more if you can. God has blessed and Loves us so much that he gave us the gift of his Son, that we all may have eternal life. Let us show our appreciation and thanks by supporting the works of Christ's church on earth by meeting the needs of our Parish. Thank You for your support and remember God will not be out done in his Generosity. Merry Christmas and God Bless, Rev. Kyle G. Rodden and Your Parish Finance Committee

Dear Parishioners,

As we near the end of the season Advent and prepare to celebrate the Nativity of the Lord and the other mysteries of the Christmas season (i.e., the feast of the Holy Family, the solemnity of Mary as Mother of God, the solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, and the feast of the Baptism of the Lord), I wish to express my gratitude for you and for all of our Saint Joseph Catholic Community. I feel especially blessed to be living and serving in Corydon and southern Harrison County. Thank you for accepting me as your pastor, for allowing me to celebrate the mysteries of our faith with you, and for allowing me to serve with you in Christian charity. Thank you for sharing with me all the many blessings of our community, and thank you for the ways you have personally sacrificed for our parish by volunteering time, sharing your talents, and offering from your financial and material treasure. We cannot be who we are without your generosity.

This Christmas, let us find time to rejoice and find rest in the mystery of our Lord’s Nativity, to lovingly gaze upon the holy manger scene: “For a child is born to us, a son is given us; upon his shoulder dominion rests. They name him Wonder-Counselor, God-Hero, Father-Forever, Prince of Peace.” May the Lord God abundantly bless you and your families, friends, and loved ones this Christmas season.

From the solemn blessings at the end of Mass on Christmas: “May God, who willed that the great joy of his Son’s saving Birth be announced to shepherds by the Angel, fill your minds with the gladness he gives and make you heralds of his Gospel.”

Peace, Fr. Kyle
