CO-OPERATIVE YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
2013
WHAT OUR PROGRAM IS ALL ABOUTACCA’s Co-operative Youth Leadership Pro-
gram provides an opportunity for youth to
develop their leadership and teamwork skills.
It is designed to give youth the independence
and confidence in their abilities while creating
lasting friendships. These seven day programs
take place at Goldeye Centre, located near
Nordegg, Alberta. This beautiful, remote set-
ting provides youth the perfect environment
to build friendships, discover hidden talents,
learn new skills, gain a positive view of the
world, and contribute to their own future.
THE POSSIBILITIES ARE UNLIMITED• Learn to plan recreational activities
• Create a digital picture CD about your week
• Set up and run a co-operative business
• Build self confidence and team building skills
• Make lifelong friends
PARTICIPANT QUOTES
“It’s like a magic world here where you don’t have to be afraid of coming out of your shell.”“I really think that I stepped out of my box so that I could grow as an individual. I also got over a lot of my fears.”
REFUND POLICYNon-attendance does not constitute notice of with-
drawal. Request for a full refund will be
considered only if ACCA is notified at least two
weeks before the commencement of your specified
program. Less than two weeks notice, refunds may
not be granted, however a withdrawing participant
may send a substitute and must notify the ACCA
office at least one week in advance of the sched-
uled program date. Refunds requested with notice
of two weeks or more will be subject to an $157.50
fee withheld to cover administrative costs.
As a result of a participant not completing a pro-
gram because they did not meet the program’s
rules and conditions, they will be required to repay
the sponsor’s portion.
OUR STAFFEach program is staffed by a fully trained group
of adults. Our staff teams are made up of qualified
employees of co-operatives, credit unions, other
youth and agricultural organizations as well as
program alumni. In addition to their own qualifica-
tions and skills, all staff must complete a screening
process, be First Aid/CPR qualified and complete a
minimum 48 hour on-site staff training before they
are approved to staff at the program. We strive to
find the most enthusiastic individuals to staff at our
programs.
FIND A SPONSORIn previous years, participants wanting to attend
the ACCA Co-operative Youth Leadership Program
have found sponsors to pay a portion or all of their
registration fees. We encourage participants and
their families to find sponsors in their communities.
Participants don’t need to be sponsored if they are
comfortable paying their entire registration fee.
Applications that arrive without the participant
fee are not guaranteed a spot until sponsor
information is received or payment is made in full.
Organizations that have sponsored participants in
the past include:
• Credit Unions
• Schools
• Service Clubs
• Co-op Stores
• Grain Companies
• UFA
• Farm Organizations
