Martyr Hasheminejads role in Islamic awakening

Abbas Ali Akhavan Armaki Fatemeh Hamidian

The role of Islam in creating movements and reviving cultures in history is no secret to anyone. Islam not only prepared the ground for advancing and spreading various sciences but also played a significant role in the emergence of emancipating movements. Many honest upright people have emerged from Muslim thinkers. They became the sources of many developments in Islamic countries by being committed to liberator instructions of Islam and inspired by its guidelines.

Martyr Hasheminejad is one of the thinkers. He was one of the intellectuals who played a substantial role in the Islamic awakening and called on Muslims to execute Qurans orders and Islamic teachings to bring the Muslims glory.

The study tries to introduce and explain Martyr Hasheminejads revivifying thoughts about Islamic awakening.

Position and importance of Islamic unity under the auspices of Holy Quran and Hadith with an emphasis on the youths role in Islamic awakening and integration

    Leila Sadeghi Naghdali

    Sajjad Sadeghi Naghdaliolya

Unity is a key factor for the prosperity, glory, and victory of Muslims and the survival of nations and cultures. The Islamic Ummah facing the enemies, who cause discord among Muslim people, can move more efficiently and competently through establishing and developing its genuine features. Young Muslims within the Islamic Ummah whether Shia or Sunni, can help promote unity among the Muslim people and eliminate prejudice and dissension within them through focusing their efforts on the affinities shared by them, because the youth of the Islamic Ummah are considered a serious threat to colonialist powers and a great opportunity to Muslims. The uprising of the youth of Muslim nations in the region and the Islamic awakening are in the vanguard of the establishment of the Islamic Ummah.

The writing intends to examine the role of the youth as heralds of the Islamic awakening and the unity between Muslims. In addition to describing the concepts of Ummah, unity, solidarity, and different types of unity among Islamic nations, the writing will examine the necessity and importance of the Islamic unity. It will also review the concept of unity from the viewpoint of verses of holy Quran and Hadith (Islamic traditions). Then it will propose solutions for promoting the unity within the Muslim world and will deal with the role of the youth in fostering Islamic unity and establishing the Islamic awakening movement. And finally we will sum up and provide several solutions for informing the youth about the Islamic awakening and unity.

The youths role in confronting the challenges of Islamic awakening

    Mohammad Sharif Roubro

Islamic awakening is a reform movement that began a century ago in Islamic societies and gradually developed in scientific and practical areas. It continues to exist now and is considered a political and social fact in the world. The awakening is obviously at the staring point of its trend and can be faced with internal challenges such as intellectual, political, ethical, and behavioral challenges as well as those concerning civilization, management, ethnic prejudice etc and external challenges like dictatorship, secularism, global arrogance, Zionism, and destructive media. In this study, the writer intends to recount the strong points, capabilities, and opportunities of the Islamic awakening as well as its damages. The role of Islamic Revolution in promoting Islamic awakening

    Nosrat Khatoon-Alavi

Today, Islamic groups are the most active political currents in the world. The reason behind this activeness, which is also serious and comprehensive, is to make Muslims aware of their backwardness and current deficits in the Muslim world. It is the awareness that has led them to make efforts and try hard over the past century. The endeavor is the very phenomenon which is called Islamic Awakening Movement. Different movements, uprisings, and revolutions, of which the Islamic Revolution is the greatest, are the fruits of the awakening. The Islamic Revolution itself has led to an increase in the Islamic awareness and awakening in the world. The Islamic Revolution has already had a major impact on Islamic awakening. In this paper, it has been tried to discuss the role of the Islamic Revolution, as a world revolution, in the awareness and awakening of Muslims in the region and the world.

The influence of the Islamic Revolution and the Supreme Leaders thoughts on the youth of Muslim countries

    Mohsen Movahedi

The Islamic Revolution of Iran has had a major impact on the awakening of Muslims in the world and the revival of religious beliefs. The role of non-organized youth in Egypts revolution

Vahid Khorshidi When all eyes were on Tahrir Square in Cairo and everyone

was waiting for the realization of the greatest revolution in the 21st century, unfamiliar words were heard, titles that all had one thing in common: Shabab (the youth), titles like: the Coalition of Revolutionary Youth, April 6 Youth Movement, the Coalition of Youth for Freedom and Justice etc. On the one hand the youth, who became the main part of the revolutionary moves, are among the young educated and mostly unemployed population of the large cities of Egypt and among those to whom communication tools such as social networks were considerable help to promote their solidarity, and on the other hand the youth are heirs of a great nation with an old history and enriched culture, great figures, thinkers and reformers who found their duty in fulfilling the 150-year awakening goals of the Egyptian people. Of course, after the victory of the revolution, the older groups with more record than the youth began to take over the reins of the developments. Although the groups were influenced by the youths move, they finally got prepared to manage the New Egypt. Accepting the influential role of the youth, particularly the non-organized youth, in the Egypts revolution at least at the upper levels, in this research we are seeking to consider the political, social and economic states of the country through a qualitative analysis and examine the role of the youth and their influence in the revolution and features of their moves through focusing on some of the young groups who were active in the revolution.

    Yahya Maroof

Imam Musa al-Sadrs move toward the foundation of Islamic awakening has had a major impact on the youth. Although Lebanon was the main place of his activities, he was always aware of the issues concerning the Muslim world. The Islamic Revolution of Iran, the security of seminaries, the unity among Islamic Arab nations to campaign against Israel and to develop Shiism in Black Africa were among the most important concerns of Imam Sadr out of Lebanon. He correctly understood that without a military force political ties of a country cannot be changed. He made efforts to create a strong military force. In this paper, the main questions include:

What was the role Imam Musa al-Sadr in the awakening of the Muslim world?

Why was Imam Musa al-Sadr eliminated from political arena of Lebanon?

What was the role Imam Musa al-Sadr in promoting the position of the Shiites of Lebanon?

The theories of the paper include: Imam Musa al-Sadrs teachings have influenced the Islamic awakening. He was one of the most influential persons that could serve as

positive role models for the youth because of their scientific and practical comprehensiveness.

He was the first one who made Arab countries become acquainted with the word resistance, and was one of the major factors of the creation of Lebanons resistance against the aggression of Israel.

He revived and conducted the policy of reform of religious thought, social justice and interfaith dialogue and the proximity of religions in Lebanon.

Imam Musa al-Sadrs absence has had an impact on the delay of current uprisings in the region.

He was one of the main factors of the revival of the spirit of self-confidence and glory in Shiite Muslims.

Conducting campaigns against ignorance, mental backwardness, oppression, and social financial corruption, and supporting the Palestinian cause were among Imam Sadrs activities.

The influence of Islamic Revolution of Iran and thoughts of Imam Khomeini (RA) and the Supreme Leader over the moves of the youth in Muslim countries

    Seyed Reza Sadr AlhosseiniMohammad Jalalifard

The Islamic Revolution made substantial changes in the structure and function of the international system and the attitudes of the worlds nations with reliance upon its soft strength which stems from genuine Islamic thought and culture. And challenging the international system and the regulations governing the system, the Islamic Revolution proved that liberalism and socialism both are moving in a way to dominate the worlds nations and are hegemonistic and materialistic in nature.

Through drawing a line between the poor and the arrogance, according to Imam Khomeini (RA), the Islamic revolution created a new front against the West and the East and caused other uprisings of the Non-Alliance Movement and other independent nations and served as a positive role model for them in the are of international relations.

For many years, the study of Islamic awakening and its analysis has been high on the agenda of powers that are afraid of it. The youths revolution calls for the reign of justice and equality

    Khalid Mohyee al-Din Abd al-Ghader al-Sheibani

In the philosophy of a divine religion it is not like that we go to sleep like Ashab-e-Kahf (companions of the cave), and awake at the time of trouble and crisis and raise a question strongly and then go back to sleep again.

Islam has talked about the youth and attached high significance to them more than any other religion. In fact the spread of Islam is due to the youths strength, and God preserved Islam by the youth. Islam has also focused on the youth to value their contribution to the awakening of nations and the supporting of Gods religion and the spread of Muhammads (peace be upon him) message to the whole world.

The role of Muslim youths in the movements of nations is substantial. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) often talked about the youth, and there are many traditions in which Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has addressed the youth and led them. The prophet was trying to tell them that they are the hopes of their nation and those who will save the nation from the enemies conspiracies. As narrated by Ahmad Abuyali in a hadith, the holy prophet said that God likes youths who are not ignorant.

What is seen in the Islamic awakening revolutions in these days is the role of the youth which is influenced by the role of Imam Khomeini (RA) and the Islamic Revolution of Iran. In this paper we will examine the role of Imam Khomeini (RA) and the Islamic Revolution of Iran in detail.

An examination of challenges facing Islamic awakening and the youths role in confronting them

    Farzan Shahidi

It has been more than a year that the Islamic awakening and popular uprisings called Arab spring occurred in the North Africa and the Middle East region. During the period the region has witnessed the collapse of at least three dictators in the countries of Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya. Now the people of these countries have celebrated the collapse of these West-backed dictators. But the people are experiencing a difficult period of transition which is full of challenges.

Some of the challenges, which appear to be in various areas such as intellectual, ethical, political and financial, have their roots within the countries. Conditions and infrastructural problems of the revolutionary countries such as ethnic and tribal divisions, the sediments of the culture of tyranny, lack of economic development, cultural backwardness and dependence on the worlds powers will increase the challenges. Therefore the examination of the challenges needs introduction to the conditions and states of each country as the first step.

Some challenges also stem from the outsiders conspiracies, influences, and the interferences in the revolutionary countries such as Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Yemen, etc. |The challenges can be summarized in affairs like hegemony, hijacking the revolutions, imposing models, etc. Meanwhile, the United States of America as a superpower, who proclaims the leadership of the world and at the same time pursues many open and secret objectives in the Middle East, is mostly interfering in the

revolutionary countries. Besides, the Zionist regime as a strategic ally of the United States in the region, which is afraid of the Islamic awakening wave and the development of resistance front more than any other country, is seeking to cause the Islamic countries trouble with reliance upon the West and through utilizing various tools. Undoubtedly, identifying the challenges and proposing suitable solutions in order to overcome the challenges is considered one of the most critical needs of the revolutionary countries for the transition period. The role of the youth in confronting the challenges is also prominent and undeniable, particularly when the essence and consistency of the Islamic awakening and popular uprisings in the region depend on the youth. It is the very generation that should decide the fate of the Islamic and revolutionary countries. In this research, in addition to examining and explaining the challenges facing the Islamic awakening in the revolutionary countries, we intend to propose suitable solutions in order to overcome the challenges with reliance upon the role of the youth. The challenges that have been mentioned in the research concern the generalities of the Islamic awakening, and since they are general, they are applicable to all revolutionary countries. Naturally, the examination of the issues and challenges of each country needs independent and field research, and the issues cannot be perfectly addressed in the research.

Besides, the writing mentions the guidelines of Imam Khomeini (RA) and Imam Khamenei as well as the experiences of the Islamic Republic, considering that the Islamic Revolution of Iran has gained many experiences in establishing government and confronting challenges and threats.

The role of Intellectual developments of the peoples in the Middle East and North Africa region in the recent Islamic movements

    Leila Jafari

    Seyed Javad Imamjomehzadeh

Undoubtedly, the Arab uprisings were the most important and influential incidents of the world in 2011. The consecutive collapses of four lifelong dictators in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Yemen and rare street protests by people in most Arab countries, were an unexpected phenomenon that no international analyst had expected. But the proceedings are continuing and have not stopped yet. In fact it can be said that the process has not completed. There are many disagreements even about the name of the phenomenon. Revolution, uprising, Islamic or Human awakening, Arab spring, wrath etc are among the names that have been used for the phenomenon. The main question is that what the nature and source of the current developments in the region is. The writing is based on a theory that the intellectual developments of the people in the region had a direct role in challenging the wests discourse.

In these lines, the present writing, at first, briefly examines the policies implemented in the region after the world war two and then explains the role of globalization in creating awareness among the people and their efforts to challenge the dominant discourse of the west. Meanwhile, the medias role as one of the tools involved in the process of globalization in these events is considered. The research type in this paper is analytical-descriptive and the information is collected through various methods. The writing is generally based on a library and internet method with reliance upon historical data and available evidences obtained by other researches.

Taking a look at the circumstances of formation of Islamic awakening in Tunisia and its prospects

    Seyed Mohammad Zolfaghari

The writer of the examination of developments and grounds for formation of Islamic awakening movement in Tunisia believes that the main reason behind the collapse of Ben Ali was inefficiency of the then system in addressing political financial and social demands of the Tunisian people which itself stemmed from the heterogeneous development based on financial aspects and indifference to the democracy seeking aspect of the people and their political culture.

Through examining the process of formation of an Islamic party called Al Nehza and the thoughts of its current leader and founder, Rashid Al Ghanoushi, in the Islamic awakening grounds, the writer has showed Ghanoushis liberal views about Islam through utilizing his written works. The main concern of the writer of this paper has been answering to the question that what the fate of political Islam in Tunisia is. The writer believes that the future of the Tunisian Islamists and their success depends on their efforts to preserve human dignity, political financial and social efficiency, to prepare the grounds for the cooperation of other political groups and parties, and finally to use the experience of other countries.

Defining the Characteristics of an Islamic Democratic Government and Comparing it with Western Liberal Democracy and the Role of the Youth in its Implementation

    Saeed Dahashti Ardakani

Specific factors and elements have always been considered in the formation of government in human societies. Factors like freedom, democracy, religion, economy, and welfare, active international diplomacy, all of which led and organized realizing an ideal cause. Thus, the leaders and founders of these regimes have attempted to gain required public support to reinforce their rules through declaring their government strategies along with pre-determined policies. Thus, through precise study of the target environment and human society, they set their movements and trends on the basis of the needs of their communities so that they can gain public support. They used people an instrument indeed. They used populist slogans to confront their rivals and took control of human societies and after coming to power, Western secular and capitalist regimes that have found their identities through meeting temporary human needs, consider materialistic needs as the basis and the criteria of their establishments, and in long term, they will face a severe identity crisis, which stems from dissatisfaction and failure in meeting the real needs of their communities. So the regimes that are against the religious and moral principles and ignore the peoples spiritual needs are doomed to collapse.

Analytical Study of the Viewpoints of the Leader of Irans Islamic Revolution on the Developments in the Middle East and North Africa

    Hossein Behmanesh

Popular uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa have toppled governments in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya and have given rise to widespread unrest in Bahrain and Yemen. They have also triggered limited protests in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Algeria and Syria. The latest developments have confused many political and social analysts and experts. It can be said that the etymological theories of these events have also reached nowhere. The analyses and viewpoints of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution regarding these events can be considered as an important way to discover the roots and the identity of the recent regional developments. In this paper, the author has used Ayatollah Khameneis speeches and official statements from January 9, 2011 to his address at the international conference of Islamic Awakening on September 15. The author has tried to define his Excellencys views regarding these developments through a descriptive framework and categorize them into three separate sections of study of identity, etymology and study of procedures. In this paper, it has been assumed that Ayatollah Khamenei has had a prior view and analysis of the regional events and deems these developments as the continuation of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. That is why he calls them Islamic Awakening. The author, via studying Ayatollah Khameneis comments, comes to the conclusion that he considers the Islamic, popular, freedom seeking, anti-US and anti-Zionism features of these uprisings in all these nations as the same, except in Syria, and considers them historic and critical for the future of Muslims and even all other people across the world.

This article seeks to review the causes of the Wall-Street Movement which has lately come up in protest at the US capitalist regime and economic inequality in the US. This movement, along with other similar uprisings, reveals the formation of a new culture on international level, where nations confront with the unpopular structures. It also indicates the effects that nations can influence each other and the fading role of governments in this regard. This paves the way for the introduction of an Islamic theory to set up new world orders, especially economic systems. In Islamic economic system, people are free to do business but at the same time Islam, through its laws and regulations, attempts to promote economic equality in the society.

Discourse Analysis of Identity and the Elements of Islamic Awakening on the Basis of the Comments of the Leader of Irans Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei

    Abdollah Moradi

The primary and most significant accomplishment of late Imam Khomeini was that he made Islamic Awakening as a minor discourse, to a dominant discourse in the political arena of Islamic countries. Afterwards, the leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei continued Imam Khomeinis path in promoting the discourse of Islamic Awakening. The present paper seeks to define and provide political and discourse analysis on Islamic Awakening. In this article, the recent political phenomena in the Middle East have been defined as Islamic Awakening. The author has attempted to clarify the identity of Islamic Awakening and find an answer to the main question of this paper that is how the identity and discourse of Islamic Awakening are formed and how they can be put into a coherent semantic category. Therefore, the present research aims to describe the process of discourse changes in Arab societies to explain the formation of the discourse identity of Islamic Awakening. The identity of Islamic Awakening as a nationalist Arab sub-discourse in the framework of the discourse of the Islamic Awakening and on the basis of religious democracy can be promoted. According to this analysis, the most important demand of people in recent regional developments, as Ayatollah Khamenei says, is democracy for the people who live and think in an Islamic context.
