Groups and Cabins

At Y Camp, students will be split into 12-14 groups that will rotate through the activities we have planned.  They will be with these groups for all of the activities at Y Camp.  Each group will have a male and female adult leader.  These leaders (you!) will be with your group the whole time, getting them from station to station, moving them to the dining hall on time, and taking care of any issues in your group.

Groups and Cabins

Students will also be assigned to cabins to sleep in.  Each cabin will also have either two dads or two moms (and a maybe a teacher or two) to sleep in the cabins as well.  The dads or moms will be in charge of the cabin, the safety of their cabin-mates, getting the students up on time, packed up, and off to breakfast where they will meet back up with their group.

Each chaperon will have a group they are assigned to and a cabin they are assigned to, and the kids in that cabin or group may not be the same.

Arrival

Chaperons have the option of either riding the bus up and back to Y Camp with their student or driving up by themselves and meeting the group up there.  Please have all students ride the bus up to Y Camp, but parents may take their own kids home afterwards (or another child home if they have a note).

A Regular Day

If all goes according to plans, we'll arrive at Y Camp Monday morning, eat our lunch, get into our groups, and right away start our rotations.  We'll go all day with stations until we have dinner.  All of the groups will meet back in the Dining Hall to eat, and then we'll split back up again for more stations.

When it finally grows dark, we'll meet back at Chase Lodge for an evening program and head back to our cabin circles for smores and snacks and to get ready for bed.

On Tuesday we'll pack our stuff, eat breakfast, do more rotations, have lunch, do a closing ceremony and the buses will come pick us up and bring us back to school.
