Automatic adjustment of charging parameters based on the battery configuration entered via the LCD panel.

Real-time battery management information is displayed on the LCD, such as battery capacity (as percentage or time remaining).

Temperature compensated battery charging monitors are available to monitor the internal and external battery temperature with a feedback control loop to adjust the charge current rate accordingly.

Programmable automatic or manual battery tests can be performed without interruption to the UPS operation or load.

DSP Controlled IGBT InverterThe DSP controlled IGBT inverter provides a clean, true sine wave output voltage to deliver the highest quality power to protect critical loads.

The DSP circuitry is embedded within a single control board to reduce hardware and improve noise immunity. Complex control algorithms are utilised with floating point controllers to ensure uninterrupted operation and protection of the loads in abnormal conditions that may cause failure.

The DSP control system achieves fast dynamic response for non-linear loads and high power factor under various load conditions.

Static & Manual (Maintenance) BypassStatic and manual bypass switches are included as standard, with operational characteristics as follows:

StAtIC BYPASSThis feature provides a safe transfer to mains should the UPS be overloaded or develop a fault condition.

DSP Power Factor Corrected IGBT RectifierIGBT power factor correction technology provides an input power factor close to unity (≥0.99) and input current total harmonic distortion (THDi) less than 3% to avoid disturbances to the connected loads.

The high input power factor leads to reduced electricity consumption, minimised switchgear and circuit protection, cabling and generator requirements, thus reducing investment cost.

Parallel and Redundant OperationCapability to connect up to 4 units in parallel to provide increased power capacity or redundancy. All parallel units can be operated from the front panel of any UPS.

POWER INCREASEUnits can be connected in parallel to increase the total capacity of the system. When an inverter goes offline, the critical loads are automatically transferred to bypass.

REDUNDANCYUnits can be connected in parallel to provide redundancy for absolute reliability. In parallel redundant mode, the number of units (N) supply the load and an extra unit is provided in case of failure (N+1). All units share the load current equally. When a unit goes offline, due to failure or maintenance, the standby unit continues to supply the critical load without any interruption.

Advanced Battery ManagementIntelligent precision charging principles guarantee enhanced battery life and maximum battery performance and reliability. This provides the reassurance that the battery is primed and ready for the critical role they play in your power protection system.

The static switch contains electronically controlled switching circuits that enable the critical load to be connected to either the inverter output or to a bypass source via the static bypass line. During normal operation, the load is connected to the inverter, but in the event of a UPS overload or inverter failure, the load is automatically transferred to the static bypass line.

To provide a clean (no-break) load transfer between the inverter output and static bypass line, the static switch activates and connects the load to bypass. To achieve this, the inverter output and bypass are fully synchronised by the inverter control electronics.

MANUAL BYPASSThis feature is provided solely to allow maintenance work to be carried out on the UPS without interrupting the power to the load. The UPS can be powered down to enable technical personnel to replace parts. Full system replacement and repair of major components does however, necessitate shutdown of the load.

Optional Single or Dual Source OperationTo increase flexibility, the UPS input can be fed by single or dual sources. In dual configuration, the rectifier is fed from the utility (main source), and the static and maintenance bypasses are fed from a secondary source.

Open Architecture DesignThe UPS incorporates an open architecture design to facilitate full access to replace parts quickly and easily, resulting in low Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).

Diverse Generator CompatibilityThanks to the robust IGBT rectifier, the E300 series UPS is uniquely compatible with a diverse range of sources, in particular,

generators. Input current total harmonic distortion (THDi) of less than 3% is achieved without compromising efficiency. The high input power factor enables a generator to be utilised with a power rating only 20% higher than the UPS.

Power walk-in can be adjusted from 5 to 15 seconds. Based on the current measured on the input, the UPS gradually increases the power supplied from the utility source to the load. The power, delivered by the utility source to the load, varies according to the input voltage, current and power factor.

Back Feed ProtectionBack feed protection prevents current from the UPS output feeding back to the UPS input terminals, thereby protecting maintenance personnel from electric shock hazards whilst working on the incoming supply side of the system.

Reverse Energy Tolerance for Regenerative LoadsThe E300 series UPS is suitable for use with regenerative loads, such as synchronous motors. Regenerative loads pump energy back to the mains supply. Traditionally, UPS systems would burn this feedback energy, resulting in lower operating efficiency. The IGBT rectifier in the E300 series UPS is capable of absorbing intermittent load generated power. This reverse power tolerance facilitates the execution of important system operations, such as closed transition transfers of the UPS load directly to an engine generator source.

Lower Total Cost of OwnershipThe high efficiency operation of the UPS means that less energy is consumed to supply power to the protected loads. As a result of reduced heat emission and power loss, users benefit from reduced electricity usage and air conditioning requirements.

With reduced THDI and high 0.99 input power factor, switchgear, circuit protection, cabling and generator requirements are minimised, thus reducing investment cost.

Advanced User InterfaceThe UPS operating information and parameter settings are displayed in 4 different languages and can be accessed using the large user friendly, data rich LCD and system LED mimic panel. The UPS is capable of recording up to 500 events.

Green ECO Mode of OperationThe E300 series UPS can be operated in high efficiency ECO mode (98%) providing green energy savings through reduced power consumption.

Emergency Power Off (EPO)The EPO function is designed to switch off the UPS in an emergency situation (eg. fire, flood). Operation of the EPO turns off the rectifier and inverter and cuts power to the load immediately (both the inverter and bypass lines). The EPO also prevents the battery from charging or discharging.

With the utility input supply present, the UPS control circuits remain energised, even though the output is turned off. To remove all power from the UPS, the external feeder breaker must be opened.

Auto Re-startWhen the utility and bypass sources fail, the UPS draws power from the battery system to supply the load, until the batteries are depleted. Once the batteries reach their End of Discharge threshold, the UPS will shut down. The UPS will automatically re-start once the utility power is restored and output power to the load will be delivered. The UPS also incorporates a programmable automatic start time delay.

Advanced CommunicationsA wide range of advanced communication options are available:

ExtERNAL BAttERY tEMPERAtURE SENSOROne module is fitted to each external battery cabinet to monitor the battery temperature. A feedback control loop within the UPS adjusts the charge current based on the battery temperature, optimising battery performance and longevity.

RELAY ALARMS CARDIsolated, volt-free dry contacts indicate the UPS operating status and the presence of alarm conditions. Fully programmable to facilitate the capture of a diverse range of operating and alarm conditions. Opto-isolated inputs allow the UPS to be controlled remotely.

RS232/RS485 SERIAL PORtThe UPS operating parameters can be observed and controlled locally using an RS232/RS485 communications port. Real time notification of changes in UPS status is reported to users by SMS or e-mail.

SNMP NEtWORk CARDEnables monitoring and control of the UPS operation by ethernet or internet connection. Allows the remote execution of scheduled events and the shutdown / reboot of the UPS and multiple servers. Full event log and data management. Real time notification of changes in UPS status reported to users by audible alarm, SMS or e-mail. Software supports Windows, Linux, Mac, Solaris, Open VMS and IBM operating systems.

REMOtE LCD AND LED MIMIC PANELFacilitates the monitoring and control of the UPS operations, events and parameters from a remote location.

E Series UPS Secure Power

DSP Power Factor Corrected IGBT RectifierLatest IGBT power factor correction technology provides an input power factor close to unity (≥0.99) and input current total harmonic distortion (THDi) less than 3% to avoid disturbances to the connected loads.

N+X Parallel Modular RedundancyThe E600 series provides N+X parallel modular redundancy for absolute reliability. When a module goes offline, due to failure or maintenance, the remaining modules continue to supply the load without any interruption.

The level of redundancy can be set to suit the criticality of the protected load. Should the load increase above the redundancy threshold, the UPS will alarm to notify the user there is insufficient capacity available to maintain the load if a module fails. This allows preventative action to be taken (decrease load or install additional UPS modules).

HIgH AVAILABILItY & MtBFAll UPS modules share the load current equally. With two modules configured for redundancy, the UPS system achieves 99.999% availability and the Mean Time Before Failure (MTBF) exceeds 15,000,000 hours, satisfying the reliability requirements of the critical load.

The UPS design incorporates ‘drawer style’ hot-swap UPS modules to facilitate quick and easy replacement for low Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).

DSP Controlled IGBT InverterThe DSP controlled IGBT inverter provides a clean, true sine wave output voltage to deliver the highest quality power to protect critical loads.

Advanced Battery ManagementIntelligent precision charging principles guarantee enhanced battery life and maximum battery performance and reliability. This provides the reassurance that the battery is primed and ready for the critical role they play in your power protection system.

3 Powerful 6A charger built into each UPS module with the ability to freely set the charge current level.

3 Automatic adjustment of charging parameters based on the battery configuration settings.

3 Real-time battery management infor-mation is displayed on the LCD, such as battery capacity (as percentage or time remaining).

3 Programmable automatic or manual battery tests can be performed without interruption to the UPS operation or load. The batteries can also be ‘hot-swapped’ without disconnection of the UPS.

Single or Dual Source OperationFor increased flexibility, the E600 series UPS is available with a split bypass, enabling the UPS input to be fed by single or dual sources. In dual configuration, the rectifier is fed from the utility (main source) and the static and maintenance bypass are fed from a secondary source.

Scalable Modular Solution1.4m and 2.0m tall 19” cabinets are available, capable of holding up to 5 or 10 UPS modules respectively, providing scalability to expand as power demand increases. Up to 4 three phase cabinets may be connected in parallel configuration, providing a maximum output power capacity of 800kVA at 0.9 power factor.

Static & Manual (Maintenance) BypassStatic and manual bypass switches are included as standard, with operational characteristics as follows:

StAtIC BYPASSThis feature provides a safe transfer to mains should the UPS be overloaded or develop a fault condition.

This feature is provided solely to allow maintenance work to be carried out on the UPS without interrupting the power to the load. The UPS can be powered down to enable technical personnel to replace parts. Full system replacement and repair of major components does however, necessitate shutdown of the load.

Cold Start OperationWhen the utility and bypass sources are not available, the cold start feature enables the UPS to be started using the battery only.

Excellent Generator CompatibilityThanks to the robust IGBT rectifier, the E600 series UPS is compatible with a diverse range of sources, including generators. High Input power factor (0.99) and low input current total harmonic distortion (THDi) <3% is achieved without compromising efficiency, allowing a modestly sized generator to be utilised.

Common module size: H131 × W443 × D580mm

Decentralised Parallel Structure ConceptEach UPS module contains all the required hardware and software for autonomous operation, without reliance on the centralised monitoring module. This increases system reliability by eliminating Single Points of Failure (SPOF).

Lower Total Cost of OwnershipThe high efficiency operation of the UPS (≤ 98% in ECO mode and ≤96% in On-Line mode) means that less energy is consumed to supply power to the protected loads. As a result of reduced heat emission and power loss, users benefit from reduced electricity usage and air conditioning requirements.

With low <3% THDi and high 0.99 input power factor, switchgear, circuit protection, cabling and generator requirements are minimised, thus reducing investment cost.

Advanced User InterfaceThe UPS operating information, status and parameter settings are accessed using the large user friendly, data rich LCD and

system LED mimic panel. The UPS stores 500 events on a rolling data log.

Once the utility and bypass sources are re-instated, the UPS will auto re-start, deliver power to the load and recharge the battery.

Advanced CommunicationsA wide range of advanced communication options are available:

RELAY ALARMS CARDIsolated, volt-free dry contacts indicate the UPS operating status and the presence of alarm conditions. Opto-isolated inputs allow the UPS to be controlled remotely.

Hot Plug Battery PacksSmart and simple plug and play battery solution can be installed/removed by a single operator without causing any disruption to the system.

RS232 SERIAL PORtThe UPS operating parameters can be observed and controlled locally using an RS232 communications port.

SNMP NEtWORk CARDEnables monitoring and control of the UPS operation by LAN or Internet connection and allows the remote execution of scheduled events and the shutdown/reboot of the UPS and multiple servers. Full event log and data management. Real time notification of changes in UPS status reported to users by SMS or e-mail. Software supports Windows, Linux, Mac, Free BSD and VM Ware operating systems. Accepts environmental monitoring inputs (temperature, humidity, water, smoke, security sensors).

Green ECO Mode of OperationThe E600 series UPS can be operated in high efficiency ECO mode (98%) providing green energy savings through reduced power consumption.

Centralised Monitoring ModuleAll system data is processed by a centralised monitoring module offering advanced DSP control technology. The module itself can be exchanged from the system without disrupting the protected load.

Hot swappable modulesHot swappable modules allows for modules to be removed whilst the system is live for ease of servicing or repair, this removes the need to shut down the whole system during maintenance, and allows additional modules to be added without risk to the load. The UPS will also continue to run if the control module has been removed ensuring that your critical loads are protected throughout all maintenance works are being fulfilled.

E Series UPS Secure Power

DSP Power Factor Corrected IGBT RectifierLatest IGBT power factor correction technology provides an input power factor close to unity (≥0.99) and input current total harmonic distortion (THDi) less than 3% to avoid disturbances to the connected loads.

DSP control systemThe digital signal processor controls the power-on, star-up, input power factor control, battery charging, output stage ac voltage regulation and shutdown control for the UPS system.

Parallel and Redundant OperationCapability to connect up to 4 units in parallel to provide increased power capacity or redundancy. As each UPS contains and internal battery, an increase in autonomy time is also achieved when units are connected in parallel. Automatic master/slave rotation is provided for additional reliability.

Back Feed ProtectionBack feed protection prevents current from the UPS output feeding back to the UPS input terminals, thereby protecting maintenance personnel from electrocution whilst working on the incoming supply side of the system.

Advanced Battery ManagementIntelligent precision charging principles guarantee enhanced battery life and maximum battery performance and reliability. This provides the reassurance that the battery is primed and ready for the critical role they play in your power protection system. Automatic adjustment of charging parameters based on the battery configuration entered via the LCD panel. Real-time battery management information is displayed on the LCD, such as battery capacity (as percentage or time remaining). Programmable automatic or manual battery tests can be performed without interruption to the UPS operation or load.

DSP Controlled IGBT InverterThe DSP controlled IGBT inverter provides a clean, true sine wave output voltage to deliver the highest quality power to protect critical loads.

Static & Manual (Maintenance) BypassStatic and manual bypass switches are included as standard, with operational characteristics as follows:StAtIC BYPASSThis feature provides a safe transfer to mains should the UPS be overloaded or develop a fault condition. The static switch contains electronically controlled switching circuits that enable the critical load to be connected to either the inverter output or to a bypass source via the static bypass line. During normal operation, the load is connected to the inverter, but in the event of a UPS overload or inverter failure, the load is automatically transferred

to the static bypass line.

Discrete UPS Module DesignThe UPS design incorporates discrete rack mounted UPS module to facilitate quick and easy replacement for low Mean Time To Repair (MTTR). The UPS module can be exchanged with the protected load supplied by the internal maintenance bypass breaker.

Frequency Converter ModeThe UPS can also be used as a frequency converter. It can accept a 40Hz to 70Hz input frequency range and provide a stable 50Hz or 60Hz output frequency.

Excellent Generator CompatibilityThanks to the robust IGBT rectifier, the E700 series UPS is compatible with a diverse range of sources, including generators. High Input power factor (0.99) and low input current total harmonic distortion (THDi) <3% is achieved without compromising efficiency, allowing a modestly sized generator to be utilised. The E700 series includes a “power walk-in” feature that measures the UPS input current and gradually increases the power supplied from the utility source to the load.

APPLICAtION

Server, Telecommunications, Networking, Data Centre, IT, Financial, Emergency Services, Defence, Retail, Transportation, Broadcasting and Communications, Healthcare, Leisure and Sport, Government, Education

Lower Total Cost of OwnershipThe high efficiency operation of the UPS (>95% in on-line mode) means that less energy is consumed to supply power to the protected loads. As a result of reduced heat emission and power loss, users benefit from reduced electricity usage and air conditioning requirements. With low <3% THDi and high 0.99 input power factor, switchgear, circuit protection, cabling and generator requirements are minimised, thus reducing investment cost.

Advanced User InterfaceThe UPS operating information, status and parameter settings are accessed using the large user friendly, touch screen LCD and system LED mimic panel. The UPS stores 500 events on a rolling data log.

Green ECO Mode of OperationThe E700 series UPS can be operated in high efficiency ECO mode (97%) providing green energy savings through reduced power consumption.

Auto Re-startWhen the utility source fails, the UPS draws power from the battery system to supply the load, until the batteries are depleted. Once the batteries reach their End of

Discharge threshold, the UPS will shut down. The UPS can be programmed to auto-recover after End of Discharge after a set variable delay time.

Cold Start OperationWhen the utility source is not available, the cold start feature enables the UPS to be started using the battery only.

Long Autonomy Compact SolutionEach E700 unit holds 36pcs of 12V/38Ah sealed, maintenance free VRLA batteries, providing extended back-up autonomy in the event of a mains failure. The compact design prevents the need for a separate battery cabinet, providing a very compact solution, ideal for applications where floor space is limited.

Advanced CommunicationsA wide range of advanced communication options are available:

RELAY ALARMS CARDIsolated, volt-free dry contacts indicate the UPS operating status and the presence of alarm conditions. Opto-isolated inputs allow the UPS to be controlled remotely.

RS232 SERIAL PORtThe UPS operating parameters can be observed and controlled locally using an RS232 communications port.

SNMP NEtWORk CARDEnables monitoring and control of the UPS operation by LAN or Internet connection. Allows the remote execution of scheduled events and the shutdown / reboot of the UPS and multiple servers. Full event log and data management. Real time notification of changes in UPS status reported to users by SMS or e-mail. Software supports Windows, Linux, Mac,

Free BSD and VM Ware operating systems. Accepts environmental monitoring inputs (temperature, humidity, water, smoke, security sensors).

E800 Series

DSP Power Factor Corrected IGBT RectifierLatest IGBT power factor correction technology provides an input power factor close to unity (≥0.99) and input current total harmonic distortion (THDi) less than 3% to avoid disturbances to the connected loads. The high input power factor leads to reduced electricity consumption, minimised switchgear and circuit protection, cabling and generator requirements, thus reducing investment cost.

Parallel and Redundant OperationCapability to connect up to 16 units in parallel to provide increased power capacity or redundancy. All parallel units can be operated from the front panel of any UPS.

POWER INCREASEUnits can be connected in parallel to increase the total capacity of the system. When a unit goes out of order, the critical loads are automatically transferred to bypass.

REDUNDANCYUnits can be connected in parallel to provide redundancy for absolute reliability. In parallel redundant mode, the number of units (N) supply the load and an extra unit is provided in case of failure (N+1). All units share the load current equally. When a unit goes out of order, due to failure or maintenance, the standby unit continues to supply the critical load without any interruption.

Static & Manual (Maintenance) BypassStatic and manual bypass switches are included as standard, with operational characteristics as follows:

STATIC BYPASSThis feature provides a safe transfer to mains should the UPS be overloaded or develop a fault condition.

Advanced Battery ManagementIntelligent precision charging principles guarantee enhanced battery life and maximum battery performance and reliability. This provides the reassurance that the battery is primed and ready for the critical role they play in your power protection system. Automatic adjustment of charging parameters based on the battery configuration entered via the LCD panel.Real-time battery management information is displayed on the LCD, such as battery capacity (as percentage or time remaining).Temperature compensated battery charging monitors are available to monitor the internal

and external battery temperature with a feedback control loop to adjust the charge current rate accordingly. Programmable automatic or manual battery tests can be performed without interruption to the UPS operation or load. The batteries can also be ‘hot-swapped’ without disconnection of the UPS.

Single or Dual Source Operation (Optional)To increase flexibility, the UPS input can be fed by single or dual sources. In dual configuration, the rectifier is fed from the utility (main source) and the static and maintenance bypass are fed from a secondary source.

Open Architecture DesignThe UPS incorporates an open architecture design to facilitate full access to replace parts quickly and easily, resulting in low Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).

Perfect Generator CompatibilityThanks to the robust IGBT rectifier, the E800 series UPS is uniquely compatible with a diverse range of sources, in particular, generators. Input current total harmonic distortion (THDi) of less than 3% is achieved without compromising efficiency. The high input power factor enables a generator to be utilised with a power rating only 20% higher than the UPS.Power walk-in can be adjusted from 5 to 15 seconds. Based on the current measured on the input, the UPS gradually increases the power supplied from the utility source to the load. This power delivered by the utility source to the load varies according to the input voltage, current and power factor.

Back Feed Protection (Optional)Back feed protection prevents current from the UPS output feeding back to the UPS input terminals, thereby protecting maintenance personnel from electrocution whilst working on the incoming supply side of the system.

Reverse Energy Tolerance for Regenerative LoadsThe E800 series UPS is suitable for use with regenerative loads, such as synchronous motors. Regenerative loads pump energy back to the mains supply. Traditionally, UPS systems would burn this feedback energy, resulting in lower operating efficiency. The IGBT rectifier in the E800 series UPS is capable of absorbing intermittent load generated power. This reverse power tolerance facilitates the execution of important system operations, such as closed transition transfers of the UPS load directly to an engine generator source.

Auto Re-startWhen the utility and bypass sources fail, the UPS draws power from the battery system to supply the load, until the batteries are depleted. Once the batteries reach their End of Discharge threshold, the UPS will shut down. The UPS will automatically re-start once the utility power is restored and output power to the load will be enabled.

RELAY ALARMS CARDIsolated volt-free dry contacts indicate the UPS operating status and the presence of alarm conditions.

Real time notification of changes in UPS status reported to users by SMS or e-mail.

SNMP NETWORK CARDEnables monitoring and control of the UPS operation by LAN or Internet connection. Allows the remote execution of scheduled events and the shutdown / reboot of the UPS and multiple servers. Full event log and data management. Real time notification of changes in UPS status reported to users by audible alarm, SMS or e-mail. Software supports Windows, Linux, Mac, Solaris, Open VMS and IBM operating systems.

REMOTE LCD & LED MIMIC PANELFacilitates the monitoring and control of the UPS operations, events and parameters from a remote location.

Green ECO Mode of OperationThe E800 series UPS can be operated in high efficiency ECO mode (98%) providing green energy savings through reduced power consumption.

E Series UPS Secure Power

High efficiency & low total cost of ownershipUsing the latest three level rectifier and inverter technology, the E900 series achieves the highest levels of efficiency in power conversion (96% at ≥40% loading) which results in the lowest possible levels of energy loss. This provides considerable cost savings in comparison to a conventional design UPS. As a result of reduced heat emission and power loss, users benefit from reduced electricity usage and air conditioning requirements.

E900 UPS EFFICIENCY COMPARED tO

CONVENtIONAL MODEL

High Output power factorWith an output power factor of 0.9, the E900 series UPS can deliver up to 15% more active power compared to older technology Uninterruptible Power Supplies. This is achieved at 0.9 lagging, 1.0 unity and 0.9 leading power factor without any de-rate in active power.

0.9 POWER FACtOR OPERAtION WItHOUt DERAtE

DSP Power Factor Corrected IGBT RectifierLatest IGBT power factor correction technology provides an input power factor close to unity (≥0.99) and input current total harmonic distortion (THDi) less than 3% to avoid disturbances to the connected loads. The high input power factor leads to reduced electricity consumption, minimised switchgear and circuit protection, cabling and generator requirements, thus reducing investment cost.

Temperature compensated battery charging monitors are available to monitor the internal and external battery temperature with a feedback control loop to adjust the charge current rate accordingly. Programmable automatic or

manual battery tests can be performed without interruption to the UPS operation or load. The batteries can also be ‘hot-swapped’ without disconnection of the UPS.

Perfect Generator CompatibilityThanks to the robust IGBT rectifier, the E900 series UPS is uniquely compatible with a diverse range of sources, in particular, generators. This power delivered by the utility source to the load varies according to the input voltage, current and power factor.

Reverse Energy Tolerance for Regenerative LoadsThe E900 series UPS is suitable for use with regenerative loads, such as synchronous motors. Regenerative loads pump energy back to the mains supply. Traditionally, UPS systems would burn this feedback energy, resulting in lower operating efficiency. The IGBT rectifier in the E900 series UPS is capable of absorbing intermittent load generated

power.

RELAY ALARMS CARDIsolated volt-free dry contacts indicate the UPS operating status and the presence of alarm conditions.

Advanced User InterfaceThe UPS operating information and parameter settings are displayed in 4 different languages and can be accessed using the large user friendly, data rich LCD and system LED mimic panel. The UPS is capable of recording up to 500 events.

Green ECO Mode of OperationThe E900 series UPS can be operated in high efficiency ECO mode (98%) providing green energy savings through reduced power consumption.

Could your business cope without power?Power interruptions are costly to every business Regardless of whether the origin is a short or long interruption, a voltage dip, a transient or other voltage disturbance, the consequence is an outage. Interruption duration is important but much more so is the frequency of power quality problems and the serious impact they may have on your businesses ability to operate.

It is estimated that power quality problems cost industry and commerce in the EU about 10 billion per annum while expenditure on preventative measures is less than 5 % of this. The question is the obvious one: ‘How much money should be invested in prevention to balance the risk of failure?’ and the answer depends on the nature of the business.

How much money do I risk to lose with each fault?

Handbook of Power Quality, By Angelo Baggini, 2008, P. 6558

Any malfunction or wear to the UPS systems components reduces the availability of its power. It’s critical that you maintain your UPS SYSTEMS to ensure that if there is a mains failure they continue to operate, and your sensitive IT equipment isn’t damaged.

Regular checks of your UPS and generator will help ensure that they haven’t developed any faults, and identify and rectify potential issues. If you neglect UPS maintenance, you put your business continuity strategy at risk. Even the best UPS system is subjected to wear and tear.

How can I save money and prevent power faults?A UPS system from Dale Power Solutions with a remote monitoring system avoids human error, by taking human supervision out of the equation. By using Dale Power Solutions remote monitoring system (sentry) and a receptive and high level of after sales, it is possible to:

3 Prevent the faults before they become evident from early detections

3 For technicians to be properly equipped with any necessary spare parts

3 To contact the most relevant technicians

3 To remind periodical and preventative maintenance

3 To avoid human errors
