Please bring your books to the library during business hours Monday thru Thursday, from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. All books will be sanitized before distributing on the shelf or in our Grab’n’ Go bags. Please do not leave donations outside! Library Accepting Book Donations This upcoming election will be a defining moment for our country, and you need to make sure your voice is heard! Do you need to register to vote? Has your address changed since you last voted? Need a replacement card? Come to the library and we will help you fill out a voter registration card. National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, September 22, 2020 and the final deadline to register is October 5th. We have applications in English and Spanish available. Want to vote by mail, but need help? During COVID-19, voters across the country had hundreds of thousands of their ballots in various elections discarded due to errors. We are offering assistance to voters for those who wish to obtain a mail-in ballot for this November’s election. The program is available to those who are 1.) 65 years of age or older; or 2.) voters with disabilities; or 3.) expected to be absent from Callahan County on voting day; or 4.) confined to jail. Applications are available at the library. Applicants need to bring their Texas Driver’s License or photo ID and a stamped #10 (legal) envelope with their return address on it. You must request a mail-in ballot by Friday, October 23, 2020. To be clear, this is NOT your mail-in vote, this is the application to receive a mail- in ballot for the election, so don’t put this off. Once your ballot is received, we can help you fill out the information and then you can fill in your votes. Don’t be left out! Don’t let your vote be discarded on a technicality!
