YOUR GUIDE TO REGISTERING FOR PINK SHIRT DAY The guide will help you get the most out of your Pink Shirt Day online Everyday Hero page.

This year, we’ve partnered with Everyday Hero to make it easy for individuals, schools, workplaces and

community groups to register their involvement with Pink Shirt Day: by listing an event, fundraising, requesting

a toolkit and ordering campaign materials.

By registering, you’ll get a unique Pink Shirt Day page that you can use to share with your networks to spread

the Pink Shirt Day messages. If you’re fundraising, your page will be a vital tool to get your supporters excited

about the cause and donating.

1. REGISTER YOUR PINK SHIRT DAY INVOLVEMENT

On the Pink Shirt Day website click: Register here. You’ll be taken to the Everyday Hero site where you can

sign up for an Everyday Hero account. You can sign up using your email or existing personal accounts, like

Facebook. Choose how you want to sign up, tick the Terms and Conditions box, and you’re ready to go!

2. ENTER YOUR CONTACT DETAILS

You’ll need to enter in some of your personal details so that we can send you campaign resources. This

includes a toolkit with key facts about bullying and ideas for Pink Shirt Day activities and ongoing bullying

prevention strategies for schools and workplaces. We won’t share your information with anyone else.

3. TEAMS – TO JOIN OR NOT TO JOIN?

You should create a team page if you want other people to create their own pages that connect to your team

page. Team pages are great for building a sense of team spirit – and creating some friendly competition!

If you’re supporting Pink Shirt Day as an individual or you just want to have one page for your group, you don’t

need to worry about joining or creating a team.

Creating a team is a great idea if you have really engaged students, classrooms, work groups or individuals who

want to go the extra mile to support Pink Shirt Day in addition to

what your group is already doing.

If you want to join a team that’s already been set up, click ‘join

team’, and then search for the name of the group. Once you’ve

found it, click join, and you’re good to go.

4. TELL US WHAT YOU’RE DOING FOR PINK SHIRT DAY

We’d love to hear how you and your community will be celebrating Pink Shirt Day. Don’t worry if you haven’t

participated before or don’t quite know what you’ll be doing at this stage – we’ll be sending you through a

toolkit full of ideas for activities your school or workplace can use to have meaningful conversations about

what you can do to prevent bullying. Also, don’t sweat it if you can’t make 20 May work for your Pink Shirt

Day – just pick the date that best suits you and go with that.

5. ORDER PINK SHIRT DAY RESOURCES

Use the Everyday Hero registration form to order Pink Shirt Day wristbands

and posters. While we’ll do our best, we only have limited amounts of each, so

we may not be able to meet your order in some cases.

If you’re a corporate group, there may be a small charge for wristbands.

6. MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR PIN K SHIRT DAY PAGE

Woohoo – you’ve made it! Now you just need to personalise your page and you’ll be ready to paint the town

pink! We highly recommend that you personalise your page by adding a profile photo and a short blurb about

what you and your

supporters are doing for

Pink Shirt Day. You can

use a photo of a group

together, or your school

or organisation’s logo.

You can use your page to

share updates about

your Pink Shirt Day

activities, interact with

people who are

supporting you and spark conversations about what we can all do to prevent bullying.

7. GET THE WORD OUT

You can share your page through social media to show your community how you’re getting involved.

Remember to use the hashtag #PinkShirtDayNZ. School or work newsletters are also great places to share

pages. Local media are always very keen to hear what their community are doing for Pink Shirt Day. If you have

agreed to speak to the media with your registration, we’ll be sending your contact details through to local

news outlets so that you can get your message out as wide as possible. There’s also a template media release

in the toolkit, to help you make contact with the media

directly.

8. POST UPDATES ON YOUR PINK SHIRT DAY PAGE

Show your supporters what you’re doing for Pink Shirt Day by posting updates, including pictures. You can also

share your updates straight to Twitter and Facebook – use the hashtag #PinkShirtDayNZ and help us get Pink

Shirt Day trending! Posting updates is a great tool to use if you’re fundraising, as it shows people how

passionate you are about making NZ a bully-free zone.
