THE AMERICAN RED CROSS

THE AMERICAN RED CROSS• The American Red Cross exists to

provide care to the ones in need. Its network is made up of volunteers, workers, and generous donors. These people work diligently to help people from suffering from whatever obstacle that has been placed in their lives. They work here in the United States and all around the world in these key areas: Disaster relief, Supporting America’s Military Families, Lifesaving Blood, Health & Safety Services, and International Services.

• Not completely using teaching skills

• Not furthering your education

There are no qualifications needed to work at the American Red Cross because they train you on all of the lifesaving skills they teach.

TEACHING IN INDIA (OVERVIEW)

• Prostitution in India is legal.

• Birth rate (number of births per women, fertility rate) was 5.96 before contraception, and 2.59 after contraception.

• 35.47% of women enter prostitution before age of 18. (Ministry of Women and Child Development, 2007)

• Very poor schooling in developing countries.

PEACE CORPS

The Peace Corps offers programs for graduate students that allow them to further their studies through international service work.

• Masters International

• Paul D. Coverdell Fellows Program

PEACE CORPS

Peace Corps Masters International

Under the Masters International program, graduate students spend one year at their respective campus and two years conducting teaching and service abroad. Students then return to complete their degree.

The Paul D. Coverdell Fellows Program

Returning volunteers will be eligible foe financial assistance at over 80 partner schools through the Paul D. Coverdell Fellows Program.

Students in the Fellows program serve in an internship related to their field, in a deserving local community.

Upon completion of Peace Corp service, lifetime eligibility is secured for the Paul D. Coverdell Fellows program.

As a volunteer for the Peace Corps you will be using your teaching skills to improve the lives of the less fortunate while simultaneously furthering your own education.
